Does anyone have facts about her cosmetic surgeries?
editShe is hot - perhaps even too hot for a 45 year old woman... But one doesnt need a trained eye to see that she has had more than just one face-job. I watched all episodes of Weeds and whenever i saw her she reminded me a bit of Michael Jackson. The cosmetic surgeries should be in the article - and not only because it would be interesting but also because it would be equal to Michael Jacksons article.--DavidDerGroße (talk) 02:17, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- I've actually never thought she looked as if she'd had plastic surgery and there aren't reliable sources to support that she had, beyond perhaps a nose job. She's stated she hasn't had it [1] and there's little beyond speculation (she looks too good for her age). Wildhartlivie (talk) 02:39, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Articles in Esquire
editIt certainly isn't worth the lead - she's not known as a writer, I haven't been able to find anything stating she's a regular or an "about the author" page, the search aggregates mix up the bits she has written with pictures and other discussions, there's no indication it's regular. WP:PROVEIT states that "The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation". The material has been challenged. I've turned up something that's somewhat useful, but to call it a regular column is original research without a source. It's certainly not worth putting in the lead yet - she's hardly known as an actor-writer or writer-actor. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 16:39, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- And it also says it is perfectly acceptable to tag it as needing to be cited, which is what I did, and I fully intended to cite it this evening when I came home. There is no need to quote policy to me, I've been here a very long time and know the policies. As I stated, the content was not controversial nor derogatory and there was no good reason to make such a production of this. I'd remind you that there is no deadline, and with this, waiting a day is not unreasonable. But you know, last word and all that. Wildhartlivie (talk) 20:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- I was surprised to see your objection given your experience. WP:PROVEIT has a great way of forcing sources to the surface, as in this case. Given the recent nude pics in Esquire, I could easily have seen a horny teenager throwing that in for a laugh, hence my cull. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 23:03, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Age discrepancy
editWe use an article from the now-defunct More (magazine). I don't find any date for that issue.
We reference an interview from that issue in this section:
- Early life
- Parker was born in Columbia, South Carolina, the youngest of four children,[1]
That issue was first archived on May 10, 2011, and copyrighted in 2011. (See the bottom of the page.)
On page three she states: "I'm 44, and I look OK for 44." (Page three was first archived on October 9, 2012.)
Let's do the math: 2011 minus 44 = 1967
I guess it's possible that the article is actually from 2008, but it's not likely. The Internet Archive had been archiving the magazine for a long time.
Britannica says she was born on August 2, 1964.[2] IMDB is not a RS. Lots of other unreliable sources also use the August 2, 1964 date, some referencing Wikipedia and others using Britannica.
We obviously have a large discrepancy between Britannica and her own words. How do we resolve this? -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 20:19, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Here's another magazine article from 2016 about being "fabulous at 51", which would line up with the 1964 birthday we have. I can't find any other source for the 1967 birthday. Seems most likely that the More article is actually from 2008. –CWenger (^ • @) 23:03, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Good find and good source. Thanks. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 23:32, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
