Errors
editfound an error in this article - where it talks about an anomaly of perot not receiving matching funds in 1996 but buchanan did in 2000; this is not true. perot received almost 20% of the popular vote in 1992 - almost four times the percentage necessary to receive matching funds in 1996. this fact is actually noted on ross perot's wikipedia page. someone please change this. thanks.
nevermind. took care of it myself.
I found another error. The Reform Party was created by Ross Perot in 1995. Perot ran in 1992 as an independent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.4.11.209 (talk) 20:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Planned revisions
editI plan to add additional information about state and city-level matching funds programs and their effectiveness. Specifically, I mean to focus on the program in New York City and the effect it has had on shifting candidates away from big donors and on participation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delaney herndon (talk • contribs) 01:43, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi Delaney, I think that you should add a bit more about the possible advantages and disadvantages of this method. Additionally, are there historical examples of matching funds, or similar processes, that you could discuss? This is a super interesting topic and I'm excited to see the finished result!
