Once, Upon a Mattress
editAlthough it is a much reliable source, every other Glee site has listed it as Once, Upon a Mattress. They may have just shortened the title briefly just for this. Also, why would evry one else just come up with the name Once, Upon a Mattress, it makes more sense to go with the longer title just until there are a bit more sources. Also, I saw a fox site listing it as Once, Upon a Mattress. Neo136 (talk) 23:51, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'd hazard a guess that "Once, Upon a Mattress" was a working title as it's been floating around the internet for months, hence why so many sites have picked up on it. Fox is the most official source available, so if they say it's now called "Mattress", that's really what we should use. Do you have a link to the Fox site listing it as "Once, Upon a Mattress"? Google News searching both titles yields only 3 results for the longer one [1], and the second of those mentions that the official promotional photos were released under the title 'Mattress'. There are more than just three sources listing the full title, if you were to do a wider search than just "Google News". Here's the Fox listing of the full episode title, and there are official Fox press releases online for the upcoming DVD box set that list the full episode title as "Once Upon a Mattress". I linked to those press releases on the main Glee page here. If Wikipedia insists on listing both titles, the main article here should read "'Once Upon a Mattress', also known as 'Mattress'", not the other way around. - Yes, if you note the date of my message, it was before the episode broadcast when there were fewer sources in general. Google News limits the search to mostly reliable sources rather than blogs and fansites. My reply on the main Glee talk page still stands. The DVD listings you linked to provided an incorrect title for "Throwdown" and thus are not definitively reliable. Media sources using the shorter title outnumber sources using the longer title by 12:1. And, again per my earlier message, the DVD is released in a matter of days and can confirm the official title then anyway. Frickative 15:33, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hey, no problem. Like I said in the other article, I'll just contact Fox and let them know they don't know what the hell they're talking about. You would think Fox themselves would know the names of their own shows, but apparently they're not clued in to the fact that Wikipedia supercedes everything, and if the Wiki Gods decide something is so, than that's it. It's obvious to me (and other people I've discussed this with) what the full title is, and that it's obviously been shortened by several sources for convenience, but whatever. All hail Wikipedia. Lvillealumni (talk) 12:36, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- You would think that, but given that different Fox sources give conflicting titles, there is no clear answer here, regardless of your own opinion on the matter. Feel free to contact Fox, but please also take a moment to cast your eye over WP:CIVIL. Frickative 17:57, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
