I would like to add a section about the controversy:
Controversy Antisemitism McGill University stated that it has "video evidence of individuals using unequivocally antisemitic language and intimidating behavior" on Sunday, which it condemned and promised to investigate. McGill President Deep Saini identified some protester chants as antisemitic, including "Go back to Poland" and "Say it loud, say it clear, we don't want Zionists here." The university firmly condemns these statements and behaviors. The Jewish community expressed concern and distress over these incidents. Jewish students increasingly feel marginalized and threatened on campus, significantly impacting their sense of security and well-being. Community leaders have called for concrete actions to combat antisemitism and protect all students' rights.
Revolutionary Youth Summer Program A controversial summer program, described as "revolutionary" by its organizers, began at the pro-Palestinian encampment on McGill University's campus in Montreal. Spanning four weeks, this program includes lectures on Palestinian history and the resistance movement, Arabic language courses, and cultural craft activities. About 50 to 80 people, mainly students, registered for the first week. The program sparked controversy following the release of a promotional poster featuring a historical image of people holding rifles. This image drew reactions from federal and provincial politicians who called for the dismantling of the encampment. Despite this, Zaina Karim, the program's spokesperson, defended the image's use and stated that the organizers have no regrets about it. This summer program highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian debate on university campuses. Nathanawell (talk) 15:04, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

The encampment at McGill was taken down on Wednesday 10 July 2024. McGill hired a private company to remove the encampment. The encampment is no longer ongoing and has been terminated by McGill. I request that this information be added to this article. Instead of saying that the encampment is ongoing, please change it to saying that it has been demolished and is no longer present on campus. Here is an article on the subject. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/mcgill-asks-encampment-to-leave-1.7259095 74.57.199.64 (talk) 16:09, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
Duration counter is ongoing
editThe duration counter in the box to the right says the encampment has been standing for more than six months--it should be corrected to reflect the date the camp was demolished on July 10, as stated directly above it. 100pdundee (talk) 20:44, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
