Probably not even worth mentioning

edit

While playing this game (brand new, except my brother beat it as one character on easy mode), I experienced a bug that allowed me to play the game while keeping Model X, without beating the game as both characters. I know this is a bug because I was unable to replicate the effect. I actually have some pictures of this, not professional quality, but certainly better "than the bigfoot videos" which was the response to my first photos. I don't have any reputable sources for this, other than myself (which, despite the fact that I know I'm telling the truth, it's a good point that you can't trust everyone on the internet) so I can't put it in the article. The only reason I'm mentioning it was to ask if anyone else had seen this, or knew anything about it. Also, is "(not in easy mode go ahead and try)." really in the tone of an encyclopedia?

Hmmm....seems weird. It's never happened to me, nor have I seen it anywhere else. And nah, "(not in easy mode go ahead and try)' isn't in the tone of an encyclopedia. ChromeWulf ZX 00:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and put the LiveMetal images in a gallery. The way they were before messed up the article, pushing it in random directions and what not. -Sukecchi 20:00, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Note: It's usually recommended to place messages at the bottom of the page, easier to keep track of when the mnessages were done. (I forget the word.) Anyway, Since all of these images are fair use, it's recommended that they be placed in the namespace, rather than a gallery. In fact, someone did that a few months ago to these images. - Zero1328 Talk? 00:12, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I know, I just tend to put mine on the top. Now, even if they are fair use, it's messy. How they mess up the format of the article, if you're going to keep them like that, you should atleast straighten them up. -Sukecchi 00:31, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm not very good at arranging them, that was the best I could do. Maybe you can try rearranging them somehow. - Zero1328 Talk? 00:41, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's why I had them in the gallery, because I don't know how ethier. -Sukecchi 00:44, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, like I said before, they're fair use, so they don't really belong in a gallery. I'll figure something out. - Zero1328 Talk? 00:52, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Area Guardians

What are the guardians for the Areas?

I removed the list. The data provided was extremely ambiguous and provided nothing so as far as informative. As a reader might note, its difficult to gain a grasp upon its relevance. -ZeroTalk 09:12, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
What about putting them under the Serpent Company, since they all seem to be part of Serpent Company. But I suppose you'd need to know more about them to establish their function for being in their respective areas Reploidof20xx 08:24, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I suggest we be patient and await more plot details. If the list is similar to the boss characters in List of Mavericks, we can analyze them and make them their own list. -ZeroTalk 10:05, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
If you need help on the page for the Serpent Company, just ask.
PS. At the time I put all of those roid names in, I also added two links for articles on the series, from Atomic Fire. Can they stay there?
Reploidof20xx 11:48, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
No worries, I didn't remove those. -ZeroTalk 12:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Model O

edit

What do we do about Model O? Reploidof20xx 12:16, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Add it, of course. Now that the game has been released, it can be expanded. I can't do much yet though, my copy arrives in about a week. - Zero1328 Talk? 03:06, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have added information regarding Model O. I hope it helps though I am not sure it will.... -Model ZX Talk? 12:18, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

You added stuff that's incorrect (from my knowledge) and things I recently removed, because Wikipedia is not a Game guide. I need someone to confirm that defeating the 8 bosses from Zero 3 and 4 is an alternative to get OX. - Zero1328 Talk? 05:19, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have my copy of Rockman ZX, so I can safely say that all I posted with Model O is correct. As for Wikipedia not being a game guide: oops, sorry. Got to read the rules a bit slower next time....Also, as for the Z3 and Z4 bosses: you don't need them to get Model O, but you won't get the fun of battling the bosses....-Model ZX Talk? 14:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I asked whether the 8 bosses were an alternative to getting them. It's said in some forums that it is, but it could be just people making it up or getting it wrong. I don't have a copy of Zero 3 or 4 myself, so I can't test it. - Zero1328 Talk? 05:51, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
What I have heard is that you can get Model O either by defeating the 8 Zero series bosses, *OR* by defeating Omega. Either method will work. Can somebody confirm or deny this? -Anon

You can get Model O by defeating Omega. 70.114.48.219

Two things One, please sign talk page edits. Two, are you talking about beating Omega Zero in this game? If so, you can also get the Mysterious Rock needed if you defeat all 8 of the "extra" bosses, as said above. Mouse is back 00:58, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

"The Guards" vs. "Guardian"

edit

Okay, someone changed all the "Guards" into "Guardian". Even though the katakana used by the Japanese are a transliteration of "guardian", "The Guards" is the Romanization used on the Japanese site. Has Capcom decided to use "Guardian" in the localization? If not I'm reverting all that.—ウルタプ 22:10, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

In the American version, they are called "the Guardians". Kur 4 th Ich 18:23, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
You realize that my comment is from July 2006? >>;—ウルタプ 01:00, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's actually more likely than not Gardien. As in the French word. NEVER trust romanisations or English written on Japanese sites. They're not always accurate. 76.105.193.240 07:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
...This issue is resolved. It's The Guards in Japan and Guardian in English.—ウルタプ 13:16, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The issue's resolved? "The Guards" is not an actual translation of their name. On the site they're fully referred to as Henkyou Keibitai Gaadian. Roughly translated, Remote Region Guards Gardien. "The Guards" is just an descriptive phrase, like what Henkyou Keibitai is. It was not meant to be a translation of Gaadian. Furthermore, romanisations/English can't be trusted always anyway. For example, the Rockman.EXE Axess site gives Netto's name as "Net" in English, but that's impossible because his name is in kanji. It's Netto, a pun on the fact it's the same as how Japanese put the English word net. That does not make his name Net however. There's countless other examples, but I felt a Rockman one was most appropriate. The issue may be "resolved," but the decision is incorrect. 76.105.193.240 01:14, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could screenshots of Model abilities ever be needed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reploidof20xx (talkcontribs)

I don't know, give me an example on how they could be used in the article. - Zero1328 Talk? 10:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps a single screenshot of each Model displaying their, err, unique fighting abilities and thereof? For example, Model H slaying an enemy while air-dashing, Model PX hanging on a platform while throwing kunai at enemies, Model F firing his shots above him, Model L... uh, swimming, Model OX being cheap. Y'know! --Delf 13:39, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Missing something?

edit

I think we are missing someone with certain importance in ZX...

  • Prometheus (プロメテウス "Purometeusu", only bold katakana characters are used as his name in the game)
A warrior with unknown origin. He has shown up in front of Vent/Aile for a few times as if he is testing his/her abilities. He wields a large scythe and will attack with hellfire. He is one of Serpent's close associate and is of Fire and "None" Elements.
(Please note that the roster of elements is inherited from RZ, so there is one considered "None", i.e. Phantom's element, if you count.)
A girl/damsel (Reploid?!) that acts along with Prometheus. She looks docile and has not much emotions. During battles, she utilizes two remote-controlled options of Electric and Ice Elements and tosses her opponents. She is one of Serpent's close associate. (She is of Electric and Ice Elements, as mentioned.)

The text above is rather translated roughly and is from official sources, and is mainly for your reference... And, their names are from Greek mythology.
But it would be not too suitable to be fitted into the Storyline section, neither do I think another Chaccter sectiopn should be added. ~ Polobird 09:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Something To Point Out

edit

ZX is pronounced "sechs" in German. "Sechs" means six, which is ironic because ZX is the 6th Mega Man spinoff to date. Oh, and one more thing: are there fusions between that of the guardians' biometals? (I didn't think so, but on the page of all the series' gained weaponry, there were 2 extra biometal fusions) DeathGodDragon EDGE 22:04, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think someone made those Biometal fusions up. The game implies that there are only SEVEN Biometals in existence. Model W/V was created by a fluke. The other six were created from Model W/V. Model OX doesn't count, for that was a non-canon bonus extra. Besides, you transform into OX using a "Mysterious Rock", not a Biometal. Prometheus and Pandora's attacks may seem similar to the Biometals, but they aren't. They claim they're Mega/Rockmen, but the definition is rather vague. Maybe in Advent, we'll get a bit more info towards them. After all, they are still alive by the end of the first game. Maetch 20:23, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good Article Status

edit

I've been going around overviewing the reference status of all Megaman games. It would appear that the Megaman genre is severely lacking in citations and not a single Megaman I've seen so far is of Good Article status. We must start by ensuring all ZX articles meet the criteria. It will be easier to start with this game.

Unfortunately, the game hasn't been released in my country yet, so I can't touch it without finding spoilers. However, I must insist we add more references and a Development section. I will start searching for stuff to start a Development section, as I can do that without spoiling the game for myself.

Older Game References

edit

In Megaman ZX, there is a TON of references to older Megaman games. The Highway (area D I believe) is the same Highway from the begining of Megaman X for the Super Nintendo. Area N-1, just before the fight with Omega, is the appering/dissapering ledge puzzle found in the orignal Megaman for the Nintendo Entertainment System, just before the final fight with Dr. Wily. Everyone knows this, but Omega is the final boss in Megaman Zero 3. that's all the references that I could find, there may be more. I thought I saw a character from the Kirby series in the Crane Game room ( the flying knight with the sword thats in Super Smash Brothers for the Wii). Kur 4 th Ich 18:17, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's all trivial, really. A trivia section doesn't really belong in an encyclopedia, and that can't be incorporated into the article itself, so it should be left out. - Zero1328 Talk? 13:24, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, it is still cool that Capcom put in references to it's older games. I wasn't saying that it should be put into the encyclopedia, (well, yes, I was, but still) I think it's wirth mentioning that Capcom put references of it's older games in Megaman ZX Kur 4 th Ich 13:34, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hm, I still don't know about that.. stuff like references to older/other games occur in many other games. Same for anything like books or movies.- Zero1328 Talk? 23:44, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Absolute N00B Question

edit

I am reading this article because i know nothing about the game and want to get an idea. I see a lot of info but i still don't know WHO is the character the player uses. Is he Zero? Is he someone else? Does ZX mean that Zero and X got fused or something like that? It is said that there is also a female main character...is the player allowed to choose her for playing? must she be unocked?...

The article can't be that hard to read, can it? --Reploidof20xx (TALK) 05:52, 18 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
