Hi Onel5969, I note your concern that Bevelgearsinc may have created the draft of the Meredith Scardino page in return for payment. First of all, thank you for upholding encyclopaedic standards!
In regard to your concern, I would note that the Bevelgearsinc's draft was rejected more than six months ago and subsequently abandoned. This month, I cleaned up the article, added a number of citations, and submitted the draft for review for the sake of an added layer of objectivity. The draft was approved by Bkissin.
Can you please further explain your concern here, and outline particular edits that would satisfy your discomfort with the article as it is presently?
Hi. The only way that the UPE tag can be removed is if the UPE editor explains his connection to the article's subject, and follows the instructions on the UPE/COI pages. Once that happens, then the tag can be replaced with a simple paid editing tag. The issue with paid editing, is that the article is always tainted. IMHO, the article is not significantly different from that created by the UPE editor, and since they have not edited since they created the article, it is doubtful they will ever satisfy the UPE requirements. UPE/COI should never be encouraged. Onel5969TT me12:20, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I hear you, though I don't see any problems with NPOV here. Isn't the tag somewhat redundant since: a) the user has abandoned ship, and b) the article doesn't have any significant tone/neutrality problems? Surely the purpose of the tag is to indicate that the article needs to be cleaned up rather than to sink it into a catch-22/scarlet letter situation? Atiru (talk) 13:21, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
