Fair use rationale for Image:Metro-logo.png
editImage:Metro-logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Some cleanup of Metro page
editI am an employee of Metro's communications department, and was asked to address some updates to the page. Following with Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest policies, I want to suggest these changes in the Talk page before taking on editing myself.
1. The Metro logo has been revised. The new logo is here:
2. In the infobox, the agency name is listed as "Metropolitan Service District." The proper name of the agency is Metro. (Metro Charter, Chapter 1, Section 2). Also, Martha Bennett should be listed as agency's chief operating officer, as she serves as the agency's lead administrator.
3. If I were re-writing the page, I'd change the "Areas of Responsibility" section to "Core services." I'd consolidate bullets 3 and 6 into "Metro manages more than 16,000 acres of natural areas and parks around the Portland region, including Blue Lake Regional Park, Cooper Mountain Nature Park, Graham Oaks Nature Park, and Oxbow Regional Park, Howell Territorial Park, Glendoveer golf course, the Sauvie Island and Gleason Memorial Boat Ramps, Chinook Landing Marine Park and the Smith and the Bybee Wetlands Natural Area. It also manages 14 pioneer cemeteries, including Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, Lone Fir Cemetery and Gresham Pioneer Cemetery. (Metro does not manage Government Island nor Beggars-Tick).
4. I would consolidate info about redistricting given that that took place 2 years ago. Perhaps just a map would suffice. Seems excessive for a wiki post.
5. The links to the about pages for the Metro councilors are broken after new website.
I'm happy to make these changes myself, but wanted to give other, non-conflicted editors the opportunity to decide on changes first. If you have questions, feel free to contact me at nickc@oregonmetro.gov.
Cheers,

- Hi Nick / @MojaveNC: Thanks for taking the time to explain your efforts, and for acknowledging the issues around a conflict of interest. While I haven't reviewed your changes in detail, I appreciate the spirit with which they are offered. Time permitting, I'll be back with more substantive attention in the next week or so. -Pete (talk) 19:43, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- : You bet, @Peteforsyth: As you can see, I made some edits today, trying to update information while still being in the spirit of Wikipedia's mission and style. Happy to answer any questions, either here or via email, nickc@oregonmetro.gov. MojaveNC (talk) 20:58, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
Creating a collage of Metro's varied services
editAnyone want to take some of the available photos in/under commons:Category:Metro_(Oregon) and make a collage showing the varied services that Metro provides? I'm thinking a picture of a Metro park, the Convention Center, maybe a cemetery, either the RID Patrol truck or a transfer station, etc. Jason McHuff (talk) 23:15, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
