Liverpool
editShould this be included? // F9T 17:22, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- No. It is nothing but idle speculation, originally from The People, hardly the most reliable of sources. apparently close to sealing a deal with the Reds during the January transfer window, but an ill-timed injury to Johnson saw the deal flutter away into the wilderness is nonsense for a start, as the injury occurred well before the transfer window even opened. Everton
editUnless someone wants to give a reliable source, I've removed the line "On 31st May, it was reported that Johnson is on the verge of signing for boyhood team Everton." 79.76.167.37 (talk) 21:17, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Leeds United
editThere have been a few edits recently adding that Johnson has moved to Leeds, the most recent also stating that he played in a friendly against York on Monday. While this was reported by at least one source, it has also been stated elsewhere that this was refuted by the club themselves and that the move never happened. Since such a high-profile signing would surely be explicitly announced by the club, it's probably better to wait for this to happen, if it ever does, before adding it again. Simon Grayson was seen by football agent scouting the progress of Johnson http://www.thescratchingshed.com/2011/02/man-city-ready-to-release-michael-johnson/ - he has also said this week that Leeds are likely to bring a new addition in before the end of the week. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.121.247.108 (talk) 16:54, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
