This is clearly a contentious issue. The first time I edited this page, she was listed as British - which may seem logical, given that she has a British passport, however in interviews she is listed either as Irish or Northern Irish. Furthermore, the term 'British' like 'Irish' is politicised in Northern Ireland. For that reason, until Ms. Fairley indicates otherwise, she should be listed as Northern Irish. It is both factually accurate, and cuts across identity politics. 80.111.108.210 (talk) 13:33, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
I agree. I reverted the vandalism and the editor, who was later blocked for a fortnight, may or may not return to Wikipedia based on a message left on his or her (likely his) talk page. The Fairley article is on my watchlist so I should be able to catch such editing in the future. Quis separabit?00:17, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Where is the source for the claim she holds a British passport? Persons born in the north of Ireland are eligible for both British and Irish citizenship and passports.

I have once again removed the subject's date of birth. Even ignoring that the reference provided doesn't even give a day of the month, it is not acceptable per WP:BLPPRIMARY which says Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, home value, traffic citations, vehicle registrations, and home or business addresses.WP:DOB also covers date of birth.
