This page is awfully self serving and obviously written by Michelle, herself. Michelle seems to have a need to be seen as someone important, and these accomplishments are very exaggerated. She has a long history of very questionable behavior, but all of that seems to be missing. Sandradeedee (talk) 01:09, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Michelle Lane Smithwick like so many whistleblowers have those impacted negatively by their disclosures attacking her, twenty years later. It is very sad how heroes are attacked such as Julian Assange and the young man from the NSA. RachelWalters1 (talk) 23:53, 27 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
This was awfully self serving by the Democrat party in Clarke County Virginia which spray up when she ran for School Board. We know it was written by Michael Kropotkin who wrote the exact same sentence on a blog after Lane confront Kropotkin when he was dropping off his honey Hound Haven Honey and Lane asked him to stop Internet stalking her and writing mean things on her personal FB page. We know this was written by him. RachelWalters1 (talk) 00:17, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please stick to issues directly associated with this article. Plenty of sources are provided, which is good, but they often don't support the text that precedes them. If this isn't corrected, unsupported statements will be removed. (The lead/summary section doesn't need sources if the same info is properly supported later in the article.) Citations with a full set of parameters, such as "date", "newspaper", and "first" and "last" author names if applicable, help the article as well; it makes no sense to limit source info to a mere URL. —ADavidB 17:51, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Since you deleted the sentence about it, why do you want to hide that Lane ran for political office, which is very public activity? —ADavidB 20:44, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest

edit

In previous entries on this talk page, in response to another editor's claims of this article's exaggeration and self-service, editor RachelWalters1 referred to Lane as a hero among whistleblowers, and wrote of specific knowledge regarding what are described as Lane's interactions with a member of an opposing political party. This strongly suggests a conflict of interest, and has been followed by repeated reversion of other editor's neutral edits such as filling in source citation details, changing word-case (per MOS:JOBTITLES), and noting where given sources don't support the text they follow. Help with monitoring and correcting such issues is sought from additional editors. —ADavidB 20:27, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
