In 2018, Elverum spent nine months in Brooklyn, United States, where he didn't write any music except for the two-chord guitar ostinato that would later serve as the basis of Microphones in 2020. Does not support the content. It is cited by Rolling Stone August 2020; i have fixed this for you.

• Y [11] NPR interview. He connected the pages with staples to create a singular scroll, which was about 9 feet (3 m) by the end. Mostly good: however it was "taping pieces of paper" not stapling them. ("taping" also supported by this source)

• Y [13] Interview interview [sic]. The album received interest from fans and music publications due to it being released under "the Microphones" instead of "Mount Eerie", which surprised Elverum, who had expected the song's length to bring attention. Checks out.
• Y The transition to distortion is placed during the line "I decided I would try to make music that contained this deeper peace / Buried underneath distorted bass". Vocal harmonies are sparsely used, and appear in the last few minutes of the song. Both cited by the independent, which is the wrong source. "I decided I would try"... is cited by NPR. (reviewer note: i was wrong oops) "Vocal harmonies" needs citation to support the source.

• Y He [Elverum] discusses many significant moments from his musical career, such as the beginnings of the Microphones, the production of The Glow Pt. 2, watching the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, viewing performances by Stereolab and Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and listening to "Freezing Moon" by Mayhem. Line about "The Glow Pt. 2" (there's an allusion to the album, though not about the production) and "Freezing Moon" are not supported by citations.

  • watching the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: cited by many sources including The Fader, RS Aug 2020, npr, etc.
  • viewing performances by Stereolab and Bonnie "Prince" Billy: both cited in The Fader. Alternatively/individually, Stereolab is cited in Paste's review and Bonnie in Pitchfork's review. (ideally just stick to the fader; because refbomb.)
  • Microphones in 2020 references "The Glow Pt. 2" in this line, as stated by Stereogum: “It was early 2001, and I was almost 23. I’d finished recording The Glow Pt. 2, and I was either always on tour or setting up a tour, always running, voracious, thirsty”. Although Elverum is referencing the circumstances/time around album, I don't think he is directly discussing the production of it. (also of note; he references the album with the line “When I took my shirt off in the yard / I meant it, and it’s still off.”)

So to wrap things up: the writing is fine, but there appears to be a number of misplaced citations in the article which you need to find/fix/change for this to pass to GA.
