Fair use rationale for File:Middle Seal.JPG

edit

File:Middle Seal.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Middlesex County, New Jersey

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Middlesex County, New Jersey's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Freeholders":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:35, 22 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Simpler names for townships

edit

Should these be applied to the municipalities section for townships? ThatOneJerseyDude (talk) 13:17, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

No. That's the full town name. If you want to do those kinds of edits, I suggest opening a move request to change the article titles as well. If you do, I suggest you open only one RM that lists all of them. Instructions on how to do that are at WP:RM. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:40, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
@UtherSRG: Some of them are not using the full town name tho that was the reason why I made those changes the first time ThatOneJerseyDude (talk) 14:32, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Im confused ThatOneJerseyDude (talk) 14:32, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I suggest opening a multi-article move request and let a discussion play out. - UtherSRG (talk) 14:52, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also, consider this a reply to all of the duplicate questions you asked elsewhere. Generally, it's better to ask these kinds of questions in one location and then point a reference from the other affected talk pages to where the discussion is. For common discussions of articles that fall under a Wikiproject (such as Wikipedia:WikiProject New Jersey in this case) the discussion is usually best held there with pointers from the articles' talk pages. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:42, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
