edit- Hello Admin. This article is well written but somehow it gives an impression of violating WP:NOTADVERTISING. At the same time, WP:NPOV & WP:IMPARTIAL also might be effected. Since I am a new editor, I am taking the liberty of flagging this to more experienced editors so that someone can review this for neutrality. I noticed something interesting in this page; vast majority of the edits have come from four users 1) CampaignTeam.MD 2) Robinaluja 3) Abcd2020 & 4) Greatkanishka. First user was blocked for promotional activities and had only edited this page. Other three also do not have very different record; their majority edits are on only this page. It appears that this page is being managed by some agency; especially turned into a PR campaign for him. Sorry if I am thinking aloud. Can you please give this a look OR let me know if I can offer help in removing some material. Thanks in advance. Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 21:01, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
- This is not an issue that requires admin attention. You may want to ask for more input at the relevant WikiProjects, though; WikiProject Indian politics seems particularly relevant, and it's active too.
- I have removed the excessive list of quotes and some content that was based on primary sources, but what seemed the most promotional content, such as that about the high opinion his constituents have of him, was actually based on sources I'd consider reliable, such as Mint. The list of social and philantropic activities could do with a little more attention than I gave it. Some of the "opinions" stuff I removed might actually be salvageable, but it would have to be rewritten significantly to provide a third-party assessment of his political positions, not just his own words on various topics. - Thanks Huon, appreciate your help. I was not sure if what I observed was correct and hence my request. Your suggestions duly noted and I will take this discussion (if need be) to the right forum. I have one last question. About the four accounts I mentioned, I suspect that they are linked with each other. I found out about WP:Sockpuppet. If you were me, would you place a request there? Requesting your guidance on this. Thanks, Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 04:57, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry for being unclear; this page is the right forum to discuss the article's improvement; the WikiProject talk pages would just be places to find more editors interested in this topic to help with the improvement.
- Regarding the four accounts, User:CampaignTeam.MD was blocked for his username which violates Wikipedia's username policy; specifically, it implies shared use. For that editor, creating a new account with an appropriate username would be acceptable, and if it was indeed a campaign team, then we would want (in fact, require) different team members to create separate accounts instead of sharing one. No two of those accounts have edited the article at the same time, and while it's rather obvious that they are related in some way (see for example User:Robinaluja/sandbox), they have not technically violated WP:SOCK. If several of them edit an article at the same time in an attempt to, say, out-revert someone else or to imply that they're multiple independent editors who agree on what that article's content should be, that would be the time for a sockpuppetry investigation, although to me meatpuppetry seems more likely than a single person with multiple accounts (not that the distinction would matter much when they so clearly are related). In general, while frowned upon, editing with a conflict of interest is not inherently forbidden - the edits themselves should, of course, be neutral, which they here were not all the time.
