Contested deletion

edit

This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because... It was asserted in a previous revision of this article that It is a rough translation of "Once upon a time". To my knowledge, the expression is in no way a calque of the English language expression "Once upon a time" and no doubt existed in Japanese folk tales well before the Sakoku policy. I am WP:INVOLVED, and so must not keep or delete this article. Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 10:53, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

I've redirected to Once upon a time but my edit can be reverted. I've noticed that someone added more about the Japanese phrase to the article Once upon a time. Mukashi mukashi means something like "Long ago... long ago...", according to relevant section of Once upon a time. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 16:17, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Now I've copied and pasted relevant content from Once upon a time here and fixed it a bit. The meaning of this expression seems to be broader and expandable. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 16:32, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

relevance: anime/manga

edit

The animanga information is not relevant. It should not appear in this article, as it contains no information about "mukashi mukashi", rather it speaks to the use of folklore in manga/anime, which is not the topic of this article. It is WP:COATRACK material. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:09, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Due to above reason, said information could be added to a separate category. (also, `mukashi mukashi aku tokoro ni` are the opening lines of Daughter of Evil[1]) -- B1-66er (talk) 20:59, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
