Sourced article

edit

The users The Giant Puffin as well as Yllosubmarine have raised concerns as if the article is sourced or is not sourced.

The article is a summery of the two articles given at the end of the entry. Since it is not accepted that you simply copy information, I needed to rewrite the information of the two articles completly. This also made the article more structured than the information provided in the two articles. The information of the articles can be found in other sources too, but since all information provided in the wikipedia entry is reflected in those two articles, I decided to list those two very specific articles. The Grimes Sisters is a case that isn't THAT represented in the internet, so it's hard to find all the information at crimelibrary or elsewere most popular crime cases are listed. Still the Griems Sisters are a case known and there are information in the internet about this case. The two articles are only the two best sources.

Feel free to read the articles. You will notice that all information of the entry is also represented in the two articles. It's true that I have not made footmarks, but that doesn't mean it isn't sourced. There ARE the two sources, you can read them and check back. Please, read the articles, check the facts back, and if you find ANY fact that isn't listed in one of the two articles you can state that this particular section (not the whole article) is not sourced. I have removed the "unsorced" remark again since it simply does NOT withstand the allegations. I have opened this discussion on the articles discussion page about the concerns. You can write down your concerns there and we can discuss it there. But please do not simply state it is unsourced again! Do not say an article is unsorced just because you haven't read the sources! That is not academic.

Please make your remarkes here if you have any. Thx for the behaving according to the wikipedia rules. ColdCase 23:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've replied on your talk page, ColdCase, because I believe this mainly your misinterpretation of terms and Wikipedia policy. An External link is not a source. As of now the article has no references, and is not properly sourced. María (habla conmigo) 23:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm also finding it very hard to track down reliable sources through Google. The two external links seem to be on par with personal websites, and do not verify their information, either, from what I can see. Is anyone aware of journal articles, books, papers, etc, that may be able to be used in this article as sources? María (habla conmigo) 12:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Here is a Chicago Sun-Times article of 2001 that's dealing with the grimes sisters. If whished we can add this to the list of sources. How about renaming the section "External Links" to "Sources", would this be a kind of compromise? ColdCase 14:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Nice detective work! I think that would be suitable for the time being, and have already made the EL=Sources change on the article. I also used the Chicago Sun-Times link as an incline citation ref for several statements, so take a look at that and tell me what you think. María (habla conmigo) 14:30, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think that's good work! Thank you for that Maria. ColdCase 15:19, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
No problem, I'm glad to help. It can be pretty tedious, but it really pays off in the end. Good luck on finding more reliable sources, citing, and improving the article. If you have any questions, just ask. María (habla conmigo) 15:51, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image of crime scene

edit

User:24.141.255.238 removed the image of the crime scene twice (without any discussion). So I thought I start a discussion about that. Please do not remove the image now without any conclusion about this here on this talk page. To as many other users as possible beside User:24.141.255.238 and me: Please bring in your own oppinion so that we can get a conclusion and act after it! Ok, so that are our two opinions so far. User:24.141.255.238 wrote at first removing of the image: "A photograph of the girls' dead bodies is not necessary, show some respect". I undid this and wrote: "Its a crime scene long ago. It is common here to show such things.". To make it more clear: It is a very little photo with not much to see, of a murder crime scene which is over 50 years ago. The picture shows how the press and police trampled the crime scene, which is important. Because many clues where destroyed that way and it is a heavy criticle point of the police since the police didn't close off the crime scene. Crime scene images are posted all over the place on wikipedia. This little picture of a unsolved murder crime scene is a part of history, the bodies of the girls only barely visible and the faces are not visible at all! The main point of this picture is to see 1) where were the bodies found and 2) to see how press and police trampled the crime scene. User:24.141.255.238, if you have anything more to say about it, please feel free to do so here (as I have done too). I hope we'll find a conclusion here all together. Old German Church rd. haunted,

edit

The spot where they were found is supposed to be haunted. I drive by it once not knowing the history. I felt uneasy and nervous. later reading about it in a book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.171.131.189 (talk) 19:02, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
