Absent characters in the shorts

edit

I’m sorry, but in my eyes this is pointless trivia with no notability and therefor should be removed. Does anyone agree oder disagree with that? Gial Ackbar (talk) 07:56, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it's trainspotting trivia, and not appropriate to include, unless a secondary source comments on it, which none that I've seen have. --MASEM (t) 14:29, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I second. - Jasonbres (talk) 16:58, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Synopsis

edit

An extended synopsis can be found here, in case someone wants to include those info in the article. Gial Ackbar (talk) 09:14, 19 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Redirect Rainbow Rocks, Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, and Equestria Girls 2 to this article. J4lambert (talk) 14:02, 19 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Release date

edit

Does the release date given yet? I thought it's starting at the first of September! --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 16:11, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

The release is september 27th, as source in the article’s "release"-section. Gial Ackbar (talk) 16:20, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's a film release date, you think it's theatrically? I did added the DVD/Blu-ray release in the infobox section and it was at October 28th! --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 23:43, 24 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
We don't include home media release date in the infobox (unless that is how it premiered). We do discuss those in the body of the article appropriately. --MASEM (t) 19:54, 25 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Article title

edit

I just want this title "My Little Pony: Equestria Girls — Rainbow Rocks" is way better, without the film section above. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 01:04, 28 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Soundtrack

edit

I was wondering why the soundtrack credits them as their characters and not their voice actresses. I don't know if we should change it or not, but I'd like some explanation. Gagaluv1 (talk) 20:37, 20 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Gagaluv1: The soundtracks exist, just look into the production section, you'll see. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 03:24, 23 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
@AllenHAcNguyen: I think you're confused. I know that the soundtracks exist, my question is why in the article they are credited as their characters instead of their voice actresses (i.e. "Twilight Sparkle" instead of "Rebecca Shoichet.") I don't really want it to be changed, but I'm just curious about why we do that.Gagaluv1 (talk) 19:48, 24 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I take a look on it and see what's that soundtrack box was correct. Their singing voice actresses was correct. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 23:45, 24 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

That doesn't answer my question. I'm asking why for example "Twilight Sparkle" is credited on the soundtrack instead of "Rebecca Shoichet."Gagaluv1 (talk) 19:00, 25 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Which character sings what song is not appropriate to include on WP articles; if we're going to credit the songs, it should be their real actresses. That should be obvious (save for a couple cases), eg if we credit Katherine Barr, it's obviously her as Trixie as that's her only credited role. In the case of Shoichet, for example, if we have to make the difference between her as Sunset or her as Twilight, that can be added. But really, that whole credits column there is not really necessary, just the order, titles, and track lenght. --MASEM (t) 19:53, 25 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Oh, ok, just wondering! :)Gagaluv1 (talk) 10:51, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Film released

edit

The film's already out theatrically, but no DVD/Blu-ray release yet until October 28th! @Masem: Can you update the film status of this article? --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 00:11, 29 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

The tournament table

edit

The tournament table in this article, does this mean we should show the scores above after this being seen in the film? --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 00:30, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The tournament table might be interesting trivia for the MLP Wiki, but is no encyclopedic information for Wikipedia. therefor it should not be included here. Gial Ackbar (talk) 09:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Gial Ackbar and Masem: Why we don't include the Battle of the Bands tournament table on this article on Wikipedia? It's specific to MLP wikia that may includes the tournament table there. So, on Wikipedia, I can see the difference in this article that includes the tournament table with interesting trivia here. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 00:58, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia is less focused on plot aspects and more about the secondary coverage of the work - the reception, influence, etc. A short plot summary is acceptable for films, but the tourney table is unnecessary for this page. It is just that, trivia, which we don't include. --MASEM (t) 01:01, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Film premiere on Hub Network

edit

The film scheduled to air on the Hub Network at October 17th, but not Discovery Family Channel as it didn't launched Discovery Family Channel at this time. And therefore there is no Discovery Family Channel around. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 21:08, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

How come it becomes Discovery Family Channel now, as the Hub Network channel has already passed? --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 16:48, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Soundtrack duration

edit

I'm kind of perplexed about the criterion used to compute the tracklist's total length, since by adding up all the songs' durations one comes up with 22:16, as opposed to 20:16 (which is currently written in the article). I own the album and can confirm none of the tracks were expunged or cut, so I can't help but wonder where did those two minutes go. -- / Kàmina / 08:21, 4 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I can confirm you calculation. 22:16 is correct. Someone seems to have miscalculated. I’ll change it back. Gial Ackbar (talk) 09:53, 4 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

It seems we have two wrong links in the refs, namely "Rudell, Ishi (2015-03-31), ["Rainbow Rocks" Music Videos' lyric collab confirmation], Twitter, retrieved 2015-03-31." and "Rudell, Ishi (2015-03-31), [Composer of the 3 "Rainbow Rocks" music videos confirmation], Twitter, retrieved 2015-03-31.". They both appear to redirect to the same, unrelated tweet by Thiessen. -- / Kàmina / 21:51, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
