Thanks for the comments. Don't know about the DoB. Got it from the Indian cricket obituary. Have read an article by NSR on his memories of the first Ranji match in 1934. There he sounded as more than a teenager. I have one of his books and will check its blurb when I get the opportunity. Moved the line about the Pak series because sort of stands alone.
