editI am not sure if "Ayana" in sanskrit means without ending. The name of vishnu when formless and endless is Anantha and not Narayana. Also, Narayana is depicted standing with the four arms holding an ayudha (or weapon) in each arm (Shanka - Conch, Chakra, Gadha - Mace, Padma - Lotus)helping a human through the 4 directions/aims of a human life (Purusharthas)- Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.

Also, the mantra provided in the Narayana Kavacha is "Om Namo Narayanaya" and not "Om Namo Narayana"
Narayanan song of the prodigy
editNarayanan is a song by the Prodigy on the album "fat of the land"; which I think a link should be added to the main page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1UDaWTkAbs —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.254.64.146 (talk) 17:59, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Gaudiya Vaishnavites
editSome of the views expressed are those not of other Vaishnavite schools. Schools of Vaishnavism, such as those followed by Ramanuja, hold Vishnu to be supreme and Krishna as an avatar. Only the Gaudiya Vaishnavite school makes a sharp distinction and hold Krishna to be supreme.

This article says: "Narayana is another name for Vishnu, as Vishnu is a finite form of infinite Narayan."
I really do not understand from where that comes. As far as I know Vishnu is also infinite. In Vishnu sahasranama one of the names of Vishnu is Ananta or "infinite". 109.60.91.213 (talk) 17:18, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Reference 20
edit"In the Vedas it is written that that 'Narayana parabrahman tatvam Narayana paraha |', which points to how Narayana is essentially the supreme force and/or essence of all." I was unable to find the verse referred to in this quote. Can someone either add the English translation and/or the specific line which is being referenced?--173.187.227.85 (talk) 14:08, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

About adding information.
editNarayana and vishnu are same form and names of Sri Hari. So much authentic information are found in this wiki rather than vishnu wiki page. Add all information with given link sources to Vishnu page, then its suitable for vishnu wikipedia.,plz submerge full delete this page and add to vishnu page. @Chronikhiles User : God devotee 12:27, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- You'll notice that notable epithets have their own articles: Achyuta, Keshava, Ishvara, to name a few. I see no reason to delete these articles. Chronikhiles (talk) 12:48, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- Atleast add a direct link page name to vishnu article in introduction page. User : God devotee 13:12, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
