Footnotes
editI don't understand what is going on with the footnotes at the moment. If you could explain here what you are trying to do, I'd be happy to help. (John User:Jwy talk) 19:27, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
I had cited many quotes from memory, since I have extensively read Kohliji's articles, books and his biographies by various persons for last 20 years. Many of his stories were a part of our text-books when we were young. I had read his biography there only.
When I found your comments regarding the requirement of references, I first marked the points where the references were required. Then I tried to locate them by re-reading the entire material I had read. This is a really time-taking process. Which line of which book...it is difficult. That is why it is taking quite a while. In addition, I do not have all the copies of all the books available with me right now.
I really with to remove the painful messages at the beginning of the article. What should I do? Shoud I remove some of the material to the talk page, get citations, and then replace it? If yes, then which lines? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shishirmit (talk • contribs) 09:51, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Claims
editThe article makes many claims that are not substantiated at all. I don't doubt that Kohli is a prolific author, but this reads like a fansite ("Kohli yuga" - outside of this article, there's no such reference to this term) and things like that. The article has been tagged for more than a month for references for these, I have tried to find some myself, but there seems to be nothing to back up many of the claims. These will have to be removed. -SpacemanSpiff (talk) 05:36, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I did manage to consult a subject expert. This is Dr. Kavita Surabhi, M. Phil, PhD in Hindi Literature from Dehli Univ. I requested her for scholarly references, and she has sent approx. 20 references. However, they are in "Arjun" font of Devnagari, not Unicode, and I need to convert/retype them. Nearly all the references are in Hindi. Do I need to write them in Roman Script? What is the standard procedure? Shishirmit (talk) 19:40, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Shishirmit, did you add those sources in the form of a table? They are still there in the history, but they couldn't stand the way they were. It would be great if they could be added--in English. Drmies (talk) 23:09, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Specifically to address the reference regarding "Kohli Yuga" - I found the following on a Hindi literature blog - http://hrudyanjali.blogspot.com/2010_01_27_archive.html "नरेन्द्र कोहली ने साहित्य में आस्थावादी मूल्यों को स्वर दिया. सन् १९७५ में उनके रामकथा पर आधारित उपन्यास 'दीक्षा' के प्रकाशन से हिंदी साहित्य में 'सांस्कृतिक पुनरुत्थान का युग' प्रारंभ हुआ जिसे हिन्दी साहित्य में 'नरेन्द्र कोहली युग' का नाम देने का प्रस्ताव भी जोर पकड़ता जा रहा है. " Translated, it reads - "Narendra Kohli has given a voice to faith oriented values in literature. In 1975, with the publishing of his novel Ram Katha based novel 'Deeksha', the era of cultural renaissance began, and the proposal to name it "Narendra Kohli era" in Hindi literature continues to gain strength." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Agastyak (talk • contribs) 02:23, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
