editHello! This is the first time to start this. Regarding the section of Notable Local Agencies, I think the Director-Generals of NPA and Central Police University are appointed by the Ministor of the Interior and commissioned by the president of Taiwan. However, if there is a better way to write this, I am all ears.Chcyang
About the section of secret police
editRegarding the section of Secret police organizations, this is ancient history in Taiwan. It should be a subsection attached to the section of History of National Police in Taiwan.
- There is currently no such organization in Taiwan because the budget of such kind of secret police units would have been cut to zero by the legislators in Taiwan, without any hesitation, period. Setting it as a major section of the content would misguide the users and readers that there is still such a secret police unit in activity.
- Taiwan Garrison Command had no direct control to National Police Agency in Taiwan. Only National Security Bureau can make such direct control to the Taiwan police and other Taiwan law enforcement units, in the past and present. Furthermore, Taiwan Garrison Command had been disbanded and broken into two different units: Coast Guard Administration under the Executive Yuan and Reserve Command of the Ministry of National Defense. Again, we should not mislead users and leave the impression that the infamous Taiwan Garrison Command is still alive.
- The influence of Taiwan Garrison Command to Taiwan is way too wide, including every aspect like politics, society, economics, culture, and even eduction, not just confined to the Taiwan police system. Frankly, I think in the past National Security Bureau or National Bureau of Investigation were much more fearful or despicable to the people of Taiwan. The historical issue of Taiwan Garrison Command should not be single-out here.Chcyang 12:53, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
The title move back
editRegarding the title move from "Law enforcement in the Republic of China" back to "National Police Agency (Taiwan/Republic of China)", my reasons are:
- This page is mainly focus on The police activity in Taiwan, maybe the history of the police evolution in Taiwan. Although this page contains one section of Interdepartmental cooperation, it is meant to mention the mutual interactions between Taiwan police and other Taiwan law enforcement units. This page, originally, is not to designed as a global overview of all law-enforcement organizations in Taiwan.
- If it is necessary to have a designated page to describe all or some major law enforcement organizations in Taiwan, I would suggest the interested user or users should just create one and link this page to it. Furthermore, I would suggest to remove the redirection from Law enforcement in the Republic of China attached to this page. However, for the moment, I would not move to such a thing immediately.
I personally is about to face my doctoral oral defense very quick. Right now, I am not able to participate or maintain the edition of this page of Taiwan Police or the other related topics on a daily basis. I can only hope that if other users are to make any significant change or changes, please post your idea on the discussion and wait for a duration. During that waiting period, we all can think over our propositions before we act.Chcyang 14:39, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
ROC or Republic of China
editI checked the homepage of National Police Agency. There is no "Republic of China" except "Taiwan(R.O.C.)" at the end of the web page. I checked the homepage of http://english.www.gov.tw, and go to the topics of " Government Organizations." There is only "The organization of the ROC government is based on the Constitution, its amendments, and related law..." Therefore, I think it is suffice to use "ROC(Taiwan)." After all, it is talking about police in Taiwan, not politics in Taiwan. Chcyang 00:36, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, the official name of the agency does not contain either ROC or Republic of China. It is merely the National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior (內政部警政署). Since the article contains information about the police forces of Taiwan during the Japanese rule era, I think moving this article to National Police Agency (Taiwan) would be more appropriate.--Jerry 15:02, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also, I checked English version of the homepage of Ministry of the Interior. Its title merely contains the Ministry of the Interior. Hence, in the first paragraph of the article, I changed it back to "ROC(Taiwan)" for simplicity. Again, this is about "police in Taiwan," not "politics in Taiwan." Fair use rationale for Image:Roc npa insignia.gif
editImage:Roc npa insignia.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Dear Sir, it maybe easy for you to add such a template in a second but I just do not understand how to do it even I can read them word by word. :) However, the rationale reason is the following:
- It illustrates an educational article about the entity that the logo represents.
If anyone can help us do this, please just do it. Thank you very much.
