Split proposal
editThis article seems extremely messy for an important topic. Would it make sense to split it into two:
- NRC of India, an article on the concept of NRC, along with its legal foundations and questions, and
- NRC for Assam, an article on the process by which it is being implemented for Assam.
Pinging Vanamonde93, Winged Blades of Godric, DBigXray. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 07:59, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- To be honest, I think it's messy because it has wildly excessive technical detail that can simply be dumped. I'm not sure a split is necessary at this time; if, however, the situation in Assam continues to get widespread coverage, then a split might be necessary for reasons of due weight. - Concur. Leave this to me; I am quite good at culling stuff .... ∯WBGconverse 16:14, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
NRC controversies section proposal
editThis article misses to capture one of the core aspect that has led to the historic protest, which is the criticism on half a century old documentation on the disenfranchised and the NRC list published which had army veterans, son of freedom fighter, ex-Chief Minister, deaths in detention camps, missing genuine Indian citizens over document inaccuracies etc. Need editors help to compile on that section. Clean-up effort
editWinged Blades of Godric, thanks for taking on the task of cleaning up this page. Probably the best source for the pre-1983 history is the Myron Weiner paper that I added to the Bibliography yesterday. It is miles above anything else you can find. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 09:02, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- Kautilya3, have read that and I am planning since a long time to work on Assam Movement and this page. By the way, have you read Assam, The Accord, The Discord? ∯WBGconverse 11:31, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- No, I hadn't heard of it before. Found an excerpt on Scroll and it looks excellent. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:22, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Composition of the NRC-excluded population
editWinged Blades of Godric, I am not entirely confident of this edit. The source is a bit clobbered, and so were other sources. Please look out for any other source supporting it or contradicting it. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 00:11, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
Provoking the persons
editMany people are protesting at shaheen baag .. They didn't actually know anything about NRC. Agni koul (talk) 16:53, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
