New article
editAll discussion and comments welcome, of course! This article now needs to be linked to from the Pipil page. I have incorporated the information about language from there into this article, which means that at least some of that content should no doubt be removed from the Pipil article, but I haven't done that yet; if somebody else wants to do that, great. I also haven't created the necessary redirects (e.g. from Nawat...); again, a helping hand would be appreciated. Notice that I am putting up three articles on the Pipil/Nawat language: this one, a grammar sketch and a typological overview article. Critics will want to look at all three to get the full picture of what I've tried to do.
Please do keep in mind that this is the very first Wikipedia page I've ever done. So do let me know what I've done wrong and how to improve, and please do so as kindly as possible! I have some other projects in mind after this one, but I won't say more about that until I see what reaction I get on this first attempt. --A R King 10:49, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- This is a very good, thorough and well written article. As you say it needs to be worked together with the main Pipil article which is currently not in a very good condition. I have no criticism as to style or content. Thanks for a job well done!Maunus 20:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for the encouragement. --A R King 10:11, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Number of speakers
editI suggest removing the fact tag and putting the number at either 20 (Gordon, 2005) or "few" (on the grounds that twenty was an estimate and the number of speakers keeps decreasing anyway). Unoffensive text or character (talk) 10:21, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Now have only 7 :)--118.172.192.215 (talk) 08:31, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah? Well give a source for '7', then. Dale Chock (talk) 18:45, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
