Ex-Mormon category
editThis is an addendum to my recent edit summary, in which I responded to anon 164.50.160.202 by stating, "The criteria for the category is on the category page. It says nothing about considering himself part of a collective group." For this reason LaBute belongs in the Ex-Mormons category, and I have re-added him. I noticed that 164.50.160.202 also removed the link to Exmormonism from the Ex-Mormon category page. I agree with the edit summary in this case, where s/he writes, "The article under 'Ex-Mormonism' seems to have little to do with most of the people listed." Thus I am fine with the anon's edits there. I think removing the link from the category page is preferable to removing LaBute from the category. misanthrope
editHe's known more as a misanthrope. See the references that I added today.Arbol25 (talk) 11:36, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
error?
edit"His next play, reasons to be pretty, played Off-Broadway May 14-July 5, 2008 in a production by MCC Theater at The Lucille Lortel Theatre. LaBute's first ever Broadway production is reasons to be pretty which began previews at the Lyceum Theatre on March 6, 2009 with an opening on April 2, 2009." This doesn't read right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.184.8 (talk) 17:45, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
Personal life?
editI would assume that a person of his age would have a partner (or previous relationship), maybe a child or two. This is important not as gossip but it can impact an artist's direction and choices in their work, as they go through different stages of life. So, is LaBute just incredibly private and there is NO information on his life outside of his films and plays? It's odd for someone of his age to be such a mystery. 24.188.185.162 (talk) 01:21, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
There have been several references in past interviews where he mentions children, and (I believe) an (ex)-wife. Just because nobody's bothered to put that info here doesn't make it a "mystery". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.224.73.228 (talk) 22:32, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
