editHallo all,
I'm rather unfamiliar with the criteria for name changes on Wikipedia, but again I hope someone can give a citation for the name change. As I've mentioned I understand the actress uses Ning Chang on her socials (IG and FB), but I think we need proper citations to prove that that she is no longer using the name Janine professionally as an actress. Her own official fan forum seemed to have listed both Janine and Ning as her English first names. She has been using Janine Chang internationally for the last twenty years in the press, and it is the WP:ESTABLISHED name used in major international film markets as well for the last decade. I assume those press materials were vetted by her publicity team.
Wikipedia articles should have better reliable source than WP:IMDB since the content on IMDb is mostly user-generated. If she is indeed changing to Ning Chang as her default name, her management should have already released an official press release to standardise her English name in the media or corrected them in the publicity kit.
I have listed recent (2022-2024) usage of the name Janine Chang in film trades and Asian English newspapers of record below:
I was able to find some usage of Ning Chang in the English press, but all are quite dated.

- Ah I see someone from her team is involved in the name change on imdb and wikipedia. She just stated on her Weibo that her name should be Ning Chang on weibo 4 hours ago. Will update with secondary source if press picks up on the clarification. NoCringe (talk) 11:20, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
