Kehinde
editWe need citation for including Kehinde to his name, otherwise it should be removed. I have never before come across that as his name and I suspect there may be sentimental motives behind that name inclusion. Thanks Xokai (talk) 20:49, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

Appeal for a due and appropriate changes
editOn several occasions, Nnamdi Kanu have denounced Nigeria and so it's inappropriate to refer to him as a Nigerian. His Nationality is Biafran. His Citizenship is British. He's a British-Biafran. Thanks for considering my honest appeal. Let'sEditNow (talk) 00:41, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- You can't wishlist nationality. Biafra isn't a recognized country, and Kanu is legally a British-Nigerian despite opposing Nigeria. Applodion (talk) 12:11, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Birth Certificate
editNnamdi Kanu is one of the few people in this world bestowed with a Biafran birth certificate. He was born in Biafran claimed and controlled territory. It's absolutely ridiculous that this "compromise" is being peddled. Imagine if Wikipedia started doing "People's Republic of China (claimed by Taiwan)" for people born in Taiwan. It's ridiculous and does not follow the guidelines Xenosystem (talk) 20:26, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Applodion, let's avoid an edit war for now. Could you explain here your reasons for putting the birth certificate as Nigeria? Genabab (talk) 20:54, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- Biafra was never recognized; its territory was actively fought over for three years. Biafra never had proper state borders. The comparison made above is complete nonsense, as Taiwan is a currently existing state which does have international recognition and a generally recognized territory. A better comparison to Biafra would be the Confederate States, a rebel state which only existed during a civil war. And you won't find U.S. citizens being listed as being born in the "Confederate States", even though many were born in rebel-held areas. Applodion (talk) 21:44, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- Biafra was recognized by multiple nations across the World, especially in Africa, though (about the same level as Taiwan). They had a real society with a real government, even if a provisional one due to the genocidal war being waged on them. It is only logical that someone born in Biafran territory, who also has a Biafran birth certificate should be marked as a Biafran birth. Xenosystem (talk) 21:50, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- > Biafra was never recognized its territory was actively fought over for three years.
- This is also true for the Confederacy. But in the example of Joseph W. Bailey, his page lists him as being born in the CSA. Which makes sense, because recognised or not. That's the country he was born in. Genabab (talk) 22:10, 30 September 2023 (UTC)

INTERPOL's denial
editIt may interest editors to add this denial of INTERPOL of arresting Kanu. I saw on the body of this article that INTERPOL arrested him. Source (Misinformation) «fjuːgəbʌs» (talk) 21:01, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- It's worth noting that several reliable news agencies -including BBC, Reuters, and DW- reported the arrest by Interpol, whereas this is the claim by one member of the organization itself. Frankly, I rather trust the independent journalists instead of an Interpol representative. Applodion (talk) 14:05, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- And now, the question you should ask yourself is where did the claims from BBC, Reuters etc originate from? Don't say I rather trust here.... You are a Wikipedian who has the ability to evaluate things. Did you know that it's considered libelous to have that falsehood on this article.
- You may object when I reform the claims but provide sources of the reportage from BBC, Reuters, and DW first for us to see and evaluate. Because as long as I know, that claim of Kanu arrest by INTERPOL emanated by Malami, the attorney General. Not even very verified by BBC. And now a reply from INTERPOL told the news media directly and denied involvement; he denied Malami's claims but you said you won't take it. Anyways, its your own POV. Not Wikipedia's! Not INTERPOL's! You treat issues on Wikipedia with WP:SECONDARY sources and not based on what you think. A representative of INTERPOL is representative. Your approach towards this is insane. Try to be civil when you engage with other editors here or you rather skip for other editors to contribute.
- Best regards. «fjuːgəbʌs» (talk) 15:01, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- "Did you know that it's considered libelous to have that falsehood on this article" - No, it's not because we are simply reporting other sources. Blame the BBC etc. for reporting it if it is false.
"Anyways, its your own POV. Not Wikipedia's! Not INTERPOL's!" - It's literally stated by reliable sources, how is this my fault?
Furthermore, I merely expressed my view, I did not 'decide' anything. I'm open to changes to the article. In fact, you can just request that the Interpol denial should be added to the article, instead of immediately attacking me and declaring me 'insane'. Applodion (talk) 19:34, 5 May 2024 (UTC)- Ok your perception is understood. I mean no harm how I replied. I will reform that particular sentence and not removing it. I will reform with the Secondary sources ọ INTERPOL. «fjuːgəbʌs» (talk) 22:20, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
