Propaganda?

Edits to this article frequently attempt to squash any true telling of the primary purpose of the State Highway Patrol (by listing their primary activity as revenue generation, since their tickets are 80%+ of their job). Removal of controversies section is likewise inappropriate, and their origin as a hindrance to black mobility along the highway and roads as part of Klan control of NC government. The Highway patrol article should be considered for speedy deletion if it cannot and will not allow fair telling of what the SHP is not just the parts that give glowing recommendation of it. NC highway Patrol became part of the NC Department of Revenue until 1941 http://www.dor.state.nc.us/aboutus/ncdor.html "The state's Highway Patrol also became part of the Revenue Department's Motor Vehicle Bureau. C.A.P.?

The article seems to assert that the Civil Air Patrol is part of the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. No reference is provided in this article. As a member of the C.A.P. in North Carolina, I've learned that the C.A.P. is a national, non-profit organization. While the C.A.P. works with the S.H.P., I don't believe that they're part of the same department. I hope to read up on this a little more and correct the article if necessary. --KertDawg 20:52, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

C.A.P. Confirmed

While N.C. does have a "Department of Crime Control & Public Safety, Civil Air Patrol Division", this is just a state liaison with the N.C. Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. Controversies

I just took out the Controversies section. Since it is controversial, it needs actual citations, not just a note at the bottom that gives a generic, non-specific source.Not good enough. See WP:CITE. If put back in, needs to be worded much more neutrally than it was. In fact, the whole article needs to be less POV. Am working on that. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 17:36, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

This article is largely unsourced and has been tagged as such for over FIVE YEARS. If anyone can add sources please do so. Otherwise, my plan is to begin removing unsourced information.
