English variety
editOh, man. Sorry, I know we should be cordial here, but I can sincerely say: you're such a pain in the neck (to not say anything worse), Lugnuts. I don't know what I'll happen... maybe I'll be blocked but I don't care since it'll be explicit for everyone your true nature. "I am hard but I am fair". Seriously? Tsc, you are fair as well as Pol Pot was fair to Cambodians. "Oh my gosh, how can you insult Lugnuts, one of our masters?" Simply, because he's too fair. Take a look at his edits, and you'll see how TOTALLY fair Lugnuts is. He can't see someone editing one of "his articles", and can't help to do such useful edits (e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. Well, it's enough; otherwise, it'd take up too much space and one can say I'm arguing ad hominem).
Let's go to what really matters here: the discussion about this article. And, Lugnuts show us again how fair he is: "Brazil > Portuguese > Portugal > Europe > DMY." "Wow, such a brilliant syllogism!!" Hm... I'd probably call it a fallacy. Using this logic we should use British English for United States-related articles: United States > English > United Kingdom (> Europe >) DMY. Maybe we should use the same "reasoning" for India-related articles: India > English > United Kingdom (> Europe >) DMY. Even if you consider that English is a Germanic language you have the same "logic". So don't try to devise anything.
How about to try a Wikipedia's guideline? e.g. WP:RETAIN. Let's read: "When no English variety has been established and discussion cannot resolve the issue, the variety used in the first non-stub revision is considered the default. If no English variety was used consistently, the tie is broken by the first post-stub contributor to introduce text written in a particular English variety." Hm, I could be wrong now (but I don't think so) however I guess the first non-stub edit was this one. Hm, and who did this edit? I am. And, I used MDY i.e. American English. - Brazil is not in the United States. It's not hard to grasp, is it? Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 05:52, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- So what? Brazil is not in the United Kingdom (or Europe) too. Please, stop to use fallacies and try to argue with a guideline/policy like I did. It's not hard to grasp, is it? Gabriel Yuji (talk) 21:41, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
- Please keep up with the personal attacks and pointy edits. You're doing just great! Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 06:44, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- Show me a edit when you argued to keep the English variety using a guideline/policy, and not only editing warring? If I'm breaking the rules, you're too. Please, don't try to sound like you were a poor dear. When it was created it was formatted MDY. So it's the status quo, according to WP:RETAIN. You should reach consensus to change it instead of gaming. You're doing just great, too! Gabriel Yuji (talk) 16:24, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

- I'm adding the tag for mdy dates, not dmy dates. LOOK at the edit. Final warning. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 17:47, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- Wow, you're such intelligent and I'm such a dumbass. You've added DMY at first ([6], [7], [8]) and then subtle you changed to MDY ([9]) while still defending DMY ([10]) and I didn't notice it. You knew you couldn't argue against a policy/guideline but you didn't care on it anymore. Now, you're only trying to have your edit at the article because I don't know why you always have to edit after someone edit in one of "your" articles. Congratulations!
