Edit History
editIt should be noted that most of the content in this article was copied from the Cushing, Oklahoma article, so look at its edit history.
On a side note, I was the original author that did a bunch of google research to add the list of tank farm owners and pipelines in the "Operators" section of this article.

Oil industry in Cushing, Oklahoma → Oil industry in Cushing – Actually Oil industry in Cushing was the original name of this article, it was boldly moved to its current name. If this move request ends in a no consensus, it should stay at Oil industry in Cushing IMHO. I think that Oil industry in Cushing is the correct title for this article, because Oklahoma is an unnecessary disambiguator since other cities have no significant oil industry. If someone prefers Petroleum industry in Cushing, I'd be fine with that as well. PhotographyEdits (talk) 10:32, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose as the mover. The "Oklahoma" isn't a disambiguator, it's there because per USPLACE, we include the state in place names of non-major cities. Even if there aren't other Cushings with oil industries, it helps to specify where it is in the title, just like the main article. Cf. History of Corpus Christi, Texas, Geography of Louisville, Kentucky, List of people from Brattleboro, Vermont, etc. which don't need the state to disambiguate but have it for naming convention. If it were a parenthetical dab, it may be different. Reywas92Talk 16:40, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

- Comment Note that the policy only says "typically". We can just do something different if we want. It also talks about 'additional disambiguation', implying that the state name is already a disambuguator. That would contradict @Reywas92:. I still think that "Oklahoma" is not needed as disambiguator because the other Cushings have no notable oil industry. PhotographyEdits (talk) 15:43, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
