Talk:Omen IV: The Awakening

This film is incredibly poor quality and does not sit sequentially with the omen trilogy. It is not considered canon with The Omen series. --Brideshead 23:54, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • That may be true, the film seems to be more of a weird sort of parody/homage of the omen trilogy rather than a serious continuation. It is like cartoonish satanism with exaggerated 'omens' accompanied by creepy music and extreme characters. Remembering the description on the tape of this at the video store read, "terror and destruction seem to follow Delia wherever she goes. The preist who baptized her mysteriously dies, the psychic fair she attends burns in a fiery holocaust and her nanny falls from a second story window, impaling herself on a merry-go-round. Soon, Delia's mother begins to questions the "conincidence" of these catastrophes." ...joke, right? This film also featured key elements of the original musical score from the first Omen by Jerry_goldsmith, most notably the 'ominous' opening theme. It seems a decent film if you take into account it is direct to video/tv (which?) and not take it very seriously. ^^ Izapuff (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:05, 15 August 2009 (UTC).Reply

Abbythecat (talk) 22:33, 5 November 2019 (UTC)This was a TV movie, not direct-to-video. It was released in theaters in England. Can anyone explain how FINAL CONFLICT ends with the second coming of Christ, and yet in this movie, made 10 years later, that still hasn't happened? Also, the first 3 films made it clear Damien was the anti-Christ, yet this film says he wasn't -- he was just the grandfather of the anti-Christ. So what was the point of the first 3 movies, with everybody saying Damien was the anti-Christ and trying to kill him? Everybody was wrong? I guess what I'm really saying is I don't see how this can possibly 'count' as part of the series -- if you include it, then the first 3 films mean nothing and make no sense. Anyone got a comment on this? AbbythecatAbbythecat (talk) 22:33, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Format of initial release

edit

"Omen IV: The Awakening is a 1991 TV-movie, straight-to-home video release..." Seems to me that a movie can be either a TV-movie or straight-to-home video; it can't be both. Which was it? Fitfatfighter 05:05, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Summary

Can someone who has actually seen this film recently try to clean up the article. It's very poorly written, and difficult to follow. I'd do it, but I can't force myself to watch this horrible movie again! 170.145.0.100 (talk) 02:23, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
