Do not do category clutter

edit

This article is in Category:American companies established in 2010. It does not need to be in either Category:2010 establishments in the United States nor in Category:Companies established in 2010 because it is in sub-categories. For the establishment by year tree, all sub-cats are always diffusing.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:06, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Not sure I understand your logic. Why have these separate categories at all? The set of "American companies established in 2010" is exactly the same as "2010 establishments in the United States". Same for "Companies established in 2010", there are plenty of individual pages on that cat page that could just as easily go under "American companies" or "establishments in the US", e.g. Wikistrat, Wildfang, Wanderful Interactive Storybooks, etc. Salsakesh (talk) 19:19, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This page is 10% jargon and 90% pitch for capital

Jargon example: "digital experience platform software as a service" is incredibly vague. This means nothing to anyone. Pitch for capital example: The other 90% of the text

If the criteria for a page is that the average reader will learn something about what the subject means, its importance, its context, they will be disappointed. This is why I came here, to find out who Optimizely is, and why they're attempting to track my online behavior. However, this page is for investors, current and potential. It's really not worthy of Wikipedia as is. There may be many other pages like this, but this is the one I came across and was compelled to leave a note. Not to put too fine a point on it, but Optimizely is a player in the surreptitious mining of people's behavior online for sale to the companies they sell their services to. Most people are unaware that parties, such as Optimizely are looking into their lives from the the server side -- actively recording their behavior and selling it on. Doesn't seem quite right.
