Organic

I am confused by the claims to be the first organic brewery. Eel River Brewing Company claims to be the first organic brewery -- is the difference is Otter Creek is the first to be certified by the USDA? Four breweries actually compete for this title, but each has subtle differences:
  • Lake Front Brewery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin - First government certified organic beer, 1996[1]: 43 
  • Wolaver's/Otter Creek - "First nationally distributed line of organic beers."[2]: 254 
  • Eel River Brewing - "First certified organic brewery in the U.S.[2]: 253 
  • Ukiah Brewing Company - First certified organic brewpub."[2]: 254
