Fair use rationale for Image:9487 0016.jpg

edit

Image:9487 0016.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Reception?

edit

Could someone please add a section about what kind of reception the film received and how well it did at the box office? -- œ 06:26, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

RK visits the set

edit

Since my edit summary was partially incorrect (he was not in Illinois at the time) I figured I better post this here. IMO there are two items that would need sourcing for reentry.

  1. Was RK at the film set? Kennedy was in Oregon during May of 68 (primary was held Tues May 25) but I can find no mention of him visiting the film set. The closest I can put him to Baker City is La Grande - approx 50 miles away - on May 22 [1]. The film set was out of town so was getting there all that easy?
  2. If he did visit the set was there an argument with Seberg? Just because they were both on the political left does not mean they might not have argued but a sourced should be provided about this.

Any help in clearing this up will be appreciated and thanks ahead of time. MarnetteD | Talk 17:44, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

As a non American, and in view of the fact that Wikipedia is an international and not US-Centric entity, who the hell is RK? Roger Klapstick perhaps?--MichaelGG (talk) 09:18, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps a biography of Seberg is the place to check for a notable RFK anecdote. Varlaam (talk) 20:20, 10 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Simpsons section

edit

I'm surprised there's no reference to the The Simpsons episode which included a whole act based around the family renting this film, including supposed clips of the film. It's probably the way most people under... 40 (I'm estimating) are aware of the film's existance. I was hoping to find a section noting if there was any acccuracy at all in the Simpsons' version of the film. 70.31.8.242 (talk) 16:56, 15 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

5 years later and I'm here for the same reason. Right now, that Simpsons episode is more famous than this film. If I can somehow find out what it's called. Renard Migrant (talk) 19:44, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Another 2 years on I'm here for the same reason, but was able to answer the question of whether there's any similarity between the Simpsons version and the real thing just by reading the start of the plot synopsis. (The answer is no: about the only thing they DON'T do in this film is paint a wagon, and I think Bart and Homer would have liked the real version a lot more.) 2A00:23C5:E70C:3401:819:319C:7402:7E28 (talk) 09:20, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
