"The word has a long and varied history." I took this out, but would be happy to see it re-inserted if someone can supply some evidence for it. It seems to me that Asia ia a European concept and that pan-asianism was very much influenced by german romantic thinking - an element I intend to work into the article. Like Pan-Africanism, although this can be traced back to the late eighteenth century amongst Africans of the diaspora, it became fomalised as Pan-Africanism precisely by people influenced by German historiography. Need to distinguish between pre-war Pan-Asianism and Modern Pan-Asianism

I strongly feel that the title of this article would be misleading to those whom do not know this topic in detail. It seems that most of this article is dedicated to pre-World War II ideas of Japanese Pan Asianism, the concept of アジア主義. The problem is, this topic now also refers to modern concepts such as ASEAN and East Asian economic ties, and therefore I am wondering whether a re-direct or re-naming of the page would be appropriate, or a further expansion on the topic to provide modern and historic perspectives. Anyone have opinions?--Moki80 (talk) 03:52, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

So after reading the article and viewing the given sources for all the presented claims I can say that the article seems to contain lots of original research. I already added "original research" and "refimprove" tags. Just got my attention as the article seems to be quite old yet it presents many very poorly sourced claims. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MayMay7 (talk • contribs) 14:31, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

This is my explanation for my edit. I have removed three paragraphs of unverified information from the article's introduction. The sources attributed to this information do not support the claims that have been published and are Britannica articles about certain European and Asian languages or news articles about human genetics, there is no mention of pan-Asianism or any information to support the claims published in the intro (these are the sources [[1]], [[2]], [[3]], [[4]], [[5]], [[6]], [[7]]). So I have removed them. The information was tagged with sources to make it seem legit. When you read the sources however you can see how none of it is true. The information appears to constitute Wikipedia:No original research as there are no reliable, published sources that support the claims. 2403:5801:98D4:0:AD5F:7083:1B35:7A70 (talk) 00:24, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
