The inscription at Sangameshwara temple is in old Kannada. One can clearly see the difference between inscriptions present at other nearby temples (which are in old Kannada) and this one in Pattadakal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.200.131.61 (talk) 10:23, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Size of sub-sections

edit

@Utcursch: Any suggestions on how big the temple sub-sections can be, before spin off is preferred? I am trying to keep a summary style description in this article for balance, but am left with the feeling that I am leaving out a lot of interesting empirical details of each temple. Some of the temples in the Pattadakal monument complex have 5 to 30 page WP:RS articles, and summarizing them fairly is challenging. Your guidance would be most appreciated, Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 15:01, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Ms Sarah Welch: You can do what you did at Ellora Caves. utcursch | talk 17:06, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Utcursch. That is what my plan is for now. Please keep an eye and let me know if some subsection needs another look. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 17:20, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Utcursch: I am not sure if I did the moves/swap of titles correctly, or created a mess. Is there a way you can copy this edit history to this page? Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 16:48, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Looks like User:Amakuru did it. utcursch | talk 14:10, 11 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requesting source check

edit

@Ms Sarah Welch:Would you be able to check Michel page 112-114 for me? In the Sangameshwara section, there is a statement Shiva spearing demon Andhaka and Lakulisha, which I'm correcting for grammar. However, I'm not sure whether the demon is just Andhaka or whether both Andhaka and Lakulisha are both demons, which would affect how I would grammatically correct that bit. If you could confirm that, that would be much appreciated. Blackmane (talk) 02:01, 14 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Blackmane: Andhaka is the demon. Lakulisha is the brilliant saint, the yogi, the teacher, the founder of a major Shaiva sub-tradition. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 02:28, 14 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks @Ms Sarah Welch:. I've adjusted the text to match. Blackmane (talk) 02:48, 14 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Kadasiddheshwara temple corrections

edit

I was there yesterday and I saw no Nandi outside, not even a plinth where one might have been, as with some of the other temples. There's also no pradakshina patha (circumambulatory path). All the other notes are correct and were very helpful! I can share a pic of the non-Nandi-ness if that helps. Should I go ahead and correct it, or...? Jalfrock (talk) 04:51, 11 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
