Pattali or Paatali?
editShould the word பாட்டாளி be spelt in English as Pattali as in the article title or as Paatali? I think it should be the latter. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 13:22, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Transliterations from Indic scripts are never exact. I think we should follow the spelling used by the Election Commission of India for clarity, even though this might not always be scholarly 100% correct. --Soman (talk) 13:25, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yup agree with your point. ECI should be the deciding authority. Thanks Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 13:43, 22 February 2008 (UTC)Palanisamy Attur

In election history 2021 assembly elections it is mentioned as 5/234 but actually they contested in 23 seats only so it should be 5/23 2409:4072:E98:7C49:1CD7:1935:4492:A3EF (talk) 04:50, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
- Not done: It's a measure of their strength in the assembly, not the success of their candidates. Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly - "It has a strength of 234 members". Cabayi (talk) 06:27, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
Content removal
editShdjaoalxmx and 122.172.254.63 you both are removing the same content from the lead and edit-warring without any explanation. Could you explain why? SUN EYE 1 08:09, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
What do you mean by why..... there's something wrong I'm correcting it Shdjaoalxmx (talk) 08:27, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Shdjaoalxmx, what is wrong? Going by Special:Diff/1035423969, you removed sourced material with an unsourced line and added another line with a citations that doesn't verify the line. Tayi Arajakate Talk 08:40, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ok so did you read it fully
- https://m.timesofindia.com/city/chennai/why-pmk-is-most-sought-after-in-the-time-of-polls/amp_articleshow/67949334.cms Shdjaoalxmx (talk) 08:46, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Shdjaoalxmx, yes. The line you added "[I]ts the third Largest party on the basis of percentage of votes" is not verifiable from it. The Times of India (RSP entry) article tries to make an argument that it is "most in demand" among the smaller parties, it does not explicitly say that it's third largest. In fact, it would be plain inaccurate do so considering both NTK and Congress had higher vote shares in the last election, which makes it the fifth largest. Tayi Arajakate Talk 08:58, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Ok....this is the second change .....the first change is remove the other line which I changed Shdjaoalxmx (talk) 09:08, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Btw....in this election it participated only in 23 places so came down to 5th if you check the past you will know Shdjaoalxmx (talk) 09:09, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Shdjaoalxmx, in the first change you removed a citation and changed the line it was cited to? PMK has always contested in alliance and on less number of seats just like most other smaller parties, it was 3rd for a moment in 2016, it was 6th in 2011, behind Congress, NTK and DMDK. Anyways, you need to use reliable sources which explicitly support any additions you make. Tayi Arajakate Talk 09:22, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
No.....not always...they have got more than 6 percent before Please examine before you speak Shdjaoalxmx (talk) 09:59, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Ok.....you can atleast mention that it was once a third largest party Shdjaoalxmx (talk) 10:00, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
