Editing article
editI will try to reference some of the article, and I will be sourcing various citations and biog details. It's a shame to see the article of a major novelist in such a bad state. Anna (talk) 01:42, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- I have tried to reference what is already in the article, from strong sources. Reading it through and looking at biogs, it seems that the extant detail in the WP article is pretty kosher but was added early on, before inline citations were required by WP. The extensive literary commentary (as was) is, no doubt somewhere in the list of books now given as "further reading"; it seems that it was not some random editor's refections. To strengthen the article, I have taken out these elements out and stuck to solid, ref'd biog detail. Anna (talk) 17:27, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- Most of the old article was there from 2006 until this week. A shame it didn't have anyone to work on it. Anna (talk) 18:34, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

Differing accounts in the sources
editDiffering sources say that Scott was forced to leave school at 14 or 16, depending on which you read. Different sources also ascribe different jobs to Scott's time at Falcon Press and Grey Walls Press so I have not added the role detail to the article, due to the confusion. Some say he was an accountant, some say a secretary. He may, of course, have been both or neither. Anna (talk) 16:31, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
