Massive overhaul to remove hyperbole and non-objective information, to bring information up to date (especially regarding change of name and therefore page title), and to generally improve the depth and quality of stuff. Pixelfrenzy (talk) 16:04, 23 July 2013 (UTC)pixelfrenzyReply

I've edited the page to remove hyperbole in the first few paragraphs and add citations I could find. For the moment, I've left the rest of the page unchanged, but I do plan to return and make the description far more objective. Please undo and do let me know if there are any edits that don't meet NPOV standards. Narendra Nag TALK2ME —Preceding undated comment added 04:03, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Non-profit status and conflict of interest editing

edit

The situation with Pearl Academy and University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is rather complex. While they are owned by Global University Systems, their charters under the education societies which run them stipulate that all profits must be plowed back into the schools. Thus, money cannot be directly realized from the owners' investment. They were and remain non-profit. This is one of the main reasons Laureate sold them. GUS gets around this by "partnering" with the schools instead to provide services and access to programs in other institutions for which GUS is paid through GUS Global Services. I have edited the article to reflect this.

I note that there has been a fair amount of to-ing and fro-ing in this article. Please note that if you have any connection to the institutions and companies in question, either personal or professional, this constitutes a conflict of interest. You should (a) declare it and (b) propose changes here on the talk page for non-involved editors to make if appropriate. Voceditenore (talk) 14:48, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
