I had added the Peter the Hermit information from 1911. That was the only time I had seen that information listed. Olessi 22:35, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

This information is not correct, since the city was called Petrikon long before 11th century. User:PANONIAN

Za anonimnog korisnika: vidim da si obrisao svoj komentar sa ove strane, ali sam ga u svakom slučaju video. Ja imam kod sebe jednu knjigu od Veljka Milkovića (Petrovaradin i Srem - misterija prošlosti, Novi Sad, 2003). Dakle, čovek je tu naveo relativno obimnu literaturu koju je koristio za pisanje knjige, a pošto sam uporedio istoriju Petrovaradina iz te knjige sa drugim izvorima koje imam, mogu da tvrdim da je korektno napisana. U tačnost drugog dela knjige u kojem je autor navodio i sopstvena istraživanja neću da ulazim, ali knjiga svakako ima vrednost bar što se tiče njenog istorijskog dela. Pošto tvrdiš da čovek pravi greške pri pisanju o Petrovaradinu, možeš li navesti na koje greške misliš? Poenta Vikipedije je da u referencama navede sve relevantne izvore o temi o kojoj je članak, prema tome, ako imaš još knjiga i linkova koje bi dodao ovde, slobodno to uradi, ali tvoj lični sukob sa nekim nije dovoljan razlog da njegovu knjigu brišeš iz referenci. Ja samo znam da mađarski naziv za Petrovaradin dolazi od Sv Petra-tvrđava, Pétervárad Zato sam i stavio posle 1237, pošto se tada spominje mađarski naziv --Göran Smith 17:24, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ne, koliko lepo piše u mojoj mađarskoj literaturi ime je dobio po Svetom Petru, možda su mu to dali zato što je sličan naziv sa vizantijskim, ne znam. Ne bi stavili Svetog Petra na grv da nije. Pa ta literatura očigledno nije imala pojma kako je grad dobio ime pa je pokušala da ga objasni sa svetim Petrom, ali ako se grad prvo zvao Petri-kon (sve do 12 veka), a posle toga Peter-varad, sličnost je očigledna i potpuno je jasno da je kasnije ime nastalo od prethodnog. A taj grb sigurno ne potiče iz 13 veka, već radije iz 18-19. PANONIAN (talk) 17:46, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Našao sam od kada tačno potiče grb - iz 1751, tako da je jasno da je sv. Petar na grb stavljen upravo zbog tadašnje pretpostavke o poreklu imena, što ne dokazuje da je pretpostavka tačna. Ime možda i nema nikakve veze sa svetim Petrom, jer sama reč "petar" znači "stena" (međutim nisam siguran da li to znači na grčkom ili aramejskom), tako da bi ime moglo jednostavno da znači "stenoviti grad". Ok, to što znači na tim starim jezicima, ja govorim o mađarskom nazivu. Peter kao Petrova tvrđava. Sad, zašto su uzeli taj naziv... možda zato što je vec postojao slican naziv. A znaš da su mađari svaki naziv uglavnom menjali i prevodili na svoj jezik, pa onda bi i ovo promenili. Peter nije stena, vec petar, pa stoga je i na grbu kao zastitnik grada --Göran Smith 18:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Pa rekoh ti je da je grb iz 1751 a mađarsko ime je iz 13 veka (te dve stvari nemaju veze jedna sa drugom). I očigledno je da Mađari jesu promenili naziv Petrikon na svoj jezik dodajući mu mađarsko ime "var" što znači grad, ali takođe je logično pretpostaviti da su i Vizantijci nazvali grad po svetom Petru. Varos je grad, a varad je tvrđava na mađarskom. Pa ok posle tu napravili grb. Ja samo znam iz literature da je Peter znači Petar, a ne kamen; i da je zaštitnik grada Sv.Petar.-.. ubaci, izbaci to, uporan sam više :P))) --Göran Smith 18:55, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Peter ne znači Petar. Peter i Petar su samo dve verzije biblijskog imena koje znači kamen ili stena (postoji i priča u bibliji o tome). I šta konkretno hoćeš da se ubaci i izbaci? PANONIAN (talk) 01:42, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ok, nek stoji kako hoćeš... pa ne mora ništa da se izbaci, ja ću samo ubaci teksta o kulturi i transportu. Pošto znam da imaš literaturu, ajd napiši nešto o tim četvrtima Petrovaradina i Kamenice, da ne bude sve crveno, pošto pravim novi, super šablon, a da ne bude baš sve crveno :))) --Göran Smith 01:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mape

Ne znam jel još neko primetio ali u ovom članku sada ima čak tri mape Novog Sada sa okolnim naseljima. Goranu se nije sviđala mapa koju sam ja nacrtao, pa je nacrtao novu, sad se korisniku Bože pravde ne sviđa Goranova, pa je i on nacrtao novu, a kladim se da neće mnogo proći dok se ne pojavi i četvrta mapa.
