I've commented out the comment about Ms. Lambert's sexuality until a citation is provided. I'm sure that there are many interesting things that are true about her, but wikipedia relies on verifiablity, not truth. siafu20:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I disagree with the central description of her as a philanthropist, which is a flattering term reserved only for the rich. Low earning people who give a higher percentage of their wealth to good causes never get described as such. I'd recommend that she be called instead an architecture enthusiast. Also, she is the richest woman in Canada, that should also be mentioned in the entry. --Megaforcemedia (talk) 11:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I agree with your point about philanthropy and the wealthy, but it would not be accurate to describe Lambert as a mere "architecture enthusiast" - she is a bona fide architect with several built projects to her name, her life's work has involved architecture in numerous ways. She's an architectural practitioner, let's say. As for the philanthropy issue, whatever you might think of her as a person - and a person of considerable wealth/privilege - she has donated not only a lot of money, but more importantly, considerable time and effort to causes. For instance, there's no doubt that her work - in collaboration with community activists and others - was instrumental in saving the Milton Park area of Montreal from destruction. That's genuine activism and meaningful philanthropy. Pinkville (talk) 03:50, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
