Video of Timber by Pitbull

edit

There's a Bahamian swimming pig in the video for "Timber" by Pitbull, but I can't find any reliable sources to add it to the article. Siuenti (talk) 08:36, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

In September 2014, Bahamian director Charlie Smith released a short documentary on Exuma's swimming pigs entitled 'When Pigs Swim'. The film, which has appeared in several film festivals, seeks to explain the origin of the pigs and explores their growing popularity among tourists. http://whenpigsswimexuma.com/

Unexplained deaths

edit

Just stumbled on this article. Apparently on the 26th more than half of the pigs have been found dead. Should this be added to the article now? Or is it too soon? --71.81.74.166 (talk) 23:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

We know who created that beach, the founder. Michel Felipe is the name, so, can you put the name on description? 200.185.66.155 (talk) 11:30, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

In the infobox at the bottom, it says the Prime Minister is Perry Christie. That's outdated - the current PM is Hubert Minnis. 88.215.17.228 (talk) 11:43, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

P.S. This page has been protected on account of vandalism...but that was back in 2013. Maybe time to take the protection off? 88.215.17.228 (talk) 11:45, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done as to the Prime Minister. @Gilliam: You originally protected the page in 2013, can you respond to the unprotection request? ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 14:16, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Book and Films

edit

In October 2018, Skyhorse Publishing released a book on the origins and rise to fame of the swimming pigs, entitled Pigs of Paradise: The Story of the World Famous Swimming Pigs. [1] The book was written by Canadian writer and novelist, T.R. Todd.

Two films have also been made about the swimming pigs: When Pigs Swim (2014) and Pigs of Paradise (2018) [2] [3] Onyourtodd (talk) 17:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have a citation for a respectable source that claims the pigs were introduced for tourism purposes.
