Cleanup

I added the cleanup tag because this article has a lot of links that would be better as references. I'll have a go at this later but it's a bit late now. mh. 03:14, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

theres nothing here about the latest plusnet saga involving hacked email addresses

As of December 2010 the Cleanup tag is gone, though sorely needed. Someone please reinstate it. This article could be described as "rambling" with lots of irrelevant or unbalanced information (such as the "2005 - official shirt sponsor" entry under "History" or the long list of awards. I've made a start at cleaning this article up, removing the majority of the obvious POV material and reordering it into more coherent sections. Hopefully it will read a little less like a Plus brochure now! Ianbetteridge (talk) 13:43, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Tidy up of this page

This page has become a mess of late, has many inaccuracies and has a great deal of "opinion" pieces. I'll be taking the time to perform a general tidy of this page over the next few weeks. I'm not looking to censor or remove any of the bad news, I'm just looking to turn it into a balanced piece on PlusNet.

old plusnet logo

The old plusnet logo is about to be deleted for orphaned fair use. (image:Plusnet-logo.gif). If it would be useful anywhere in the article (history section maybe), someone should add it back before it gets deleted. Bawolff (talk) 05:14, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Polish Plusnet

From Yorkshire - which bits are actually based in Yorkshire?

Plusnet claim in their advertising to be "from Yorkshire" and this article states that they are based in Sheffied. Which bits of their operation are based in Yorkshire and which bits are not, please? I am not aware of any significant internet peering exchanges based in Yorkshire. Do they instead use MaNAP (Manchester, Lancashire) or LINX (London) - which, please? I strongly suspect that only their management, call centre, billing and remote support are based in Yorkshire and that the vast majority of their technical internet operations are actually London-based. All operations bar Internet connectivity are in Sheffield. OK anon, but the above just shows that those parts AREN'T in Yorkshire, it doesn't mean that everything else IS (and no, because your first sentence says so, doesn't mean we then assume it is so - even if you are an employee, which we have no means of verifying). The entire company is based in Sheffield in one office, however, like all UK ISPs, the actual copper cabling is owned by Openreach, and as a division of BT Group, the backhaul the BT Wholesale L.J.Skinner^{wot|I did} 15:42, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
