Info dump
editA few days ago, I contacted the Calatrava company asking for information about this bridge. I just received a well-composed infodump. I'll use it to rewrite this article. Just FYI. - Denimadept (talk) 14:32, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, one thing. We need a decent image. There are a couple of images being used on other language wikis, but they're not very good. Is anyone able to get a decent one? - Denimadept (talk) 14:36, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
At the moment, I'm trying to clarify a few things in the communication. One of them looks like a standard sig which says the info in the e-mail can't be used publicly. I hope to have this cleared up and posted later today. - Denimadept (talk) 15:05, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
There are images of the bridge available on Wikipedia Commons: they are the same used in the italian Wikipedia at the voice Ponte della Costituzione. You can access to the italian voice through the link on the left side. You may also find references to sources, in the same italian page: that's why I removed the "references" template: there's plenty of newspaper articles available in the net, just use google :). You may also consider translating the voice from the Italian Wikipedia, it's quite complete and accurate. --Grigio60 (talk) 10:02, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, and as I said above, they suck. I'm looking for good pics. - Denimadept (talk) 15:25, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
I uploaded a new picture to Wikipedia Commons today and i'll ask a friend if he can upload another (i think better) one.

- Yikes, I never finished this! I've copied what I had, updated with at least some of the changes since, and your image, to the article. The original communications are in my sandbox. I'm not sure where they should go. Maybe in here? - Denimadept (talk) 16:09, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
I noticed today that google maps is still pointing to Rialto bridge and calling it the Calatravas Bridge. I sent in a correction notice about it but thought to mention it here as well. Greggalf (talk) 10:30, 9 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greggalf (talk • contribs)
No "Freedom of panorama"?
editWhat does this mean? - Denimadept (talk) 15:29, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
From what I understand, you are not allowed to publish images of buildings by italian law, if they are still covered by copyright. This picture is used on the Italian page, but I suppose this might be deleted for the same reason. - Benjamin Mueller (talk) 17:37, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Is Wikipedia located in Italy? - Denimadept (talk) 19:25, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hm, no answer. Let's try that again. As far as I know, Wikipedia is not located in Italy. If I were to go to the bridge, take a picture, come back to the USA and post it, I wouldn't care at all about Italian law. So what's up here?
- Also, Santiago Calatrava LLC is a Swiss company, not Italian. - Denimadept (talk) 06:59, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Okay. I've done the reading of WP's position now, I think. Would permission from Santiago Calatrava LLC suffice? In what form does it need to be in? - Denimadept (talk) 07:03, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
