I'm hearing reports that he inadvertently posted the home's address to his Instagram story. That's how the robbers knew where to find him. 65.246.71.93 (talk) 06:37, 21 February 2020 (UTC) PoppedArtsReply

New article proposal: Rappers Killed Involving Crime ..... probably 79% or so, by the look of it. Finding RS's to support it might be tough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.111.9.62 (talk) 19:50, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

The image of Pop Smoke used was not taken in 2019 it was taken in January 16, 2020 when he attended the Louis Vuitton Menswear Fall/Winter 2020-2021 show as part of Paris Fashion Week. Wiki2020llps (talk) 03:06, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Not done You don't have any sources. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 15:55, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I looked into the origin of the image and this user appears to be right. https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/hip-hop/9413416/50-cent-and-steven-victor-talk-pop-smokes-posthumous-album-murder-investigation-and-more This raises licensing questions though as the date given on the file page as to when the picture was taken is stated as after Pop Smoke died. I do not think CC-BY-4.0 is the correct license. I think the "fair use because the person is deceased" template would be more accurate. Additionally, I have concerns about the licensing of the album cover as well. Unless the users behind these images are indeed the correct owners of the images I do not think they currently have the right licensing templates. Found: possible image for article

edit

I think any of the images located in this New York Times article, specifically this image, are fair use under the "Pictures of deceased persons" category described at WP:NFCI. Because the images are not "from a press or photo agency (e.g., AP, Corbis or Getty Images)" (being from a press or photo agency is a disqualification for "pictures of deceased persons" being fair-use, as described in WP:NFCI), it seems like they should be allowed to be used.

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this, and if the image seems to meet fair use, we can put one of these pictures in this article. Thanks! palindrome§ǝɯoɹpuᴉןɐd 07:43, 13 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

He was in a movie, which makes him a actor. I want to add that to the page. 24.187.51.33 (talk) 21:20, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. In addition, simply because he was in one movie, does not make him notable for being an actor. We only list the most important bits, and well if he was an actor in only one movie then it isn't that much of a defining characteristic, is it? RandomCanadian His debut posthumous acting for Boogie is out in the United States now. His wiki article is bound to get vandalism. Here are some reliable sources to prove it's his first movie. [1] [2] [3] The Ultimate Boss (talk) 04:40, 5 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
No need to post duplicate requests. Posthumous debut as an actor? That means he certainly isn't notable for it. We can certainly cover it in the article, but the infobox, per WP:INFOBOX, is for key features, not one-off feautres. And the article is already semi-protected anyway, so think that deals with the vandalism. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 04:53, 5 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@The Ultimate Boss: And you should be able to edit the article anyway, since you are auto-confirmed... Not that I'd recommend implementing the change, in light of what I just write, but nevermind. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 04:55, 5 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Recent revert

edit

hi Shoot for the stars - can you share what led you to revert this edit? The edit summary you provided says, “...totally fine how it [the article] was.” Although, considering we do not seem to currently agree that the article was better off before the edit I had made, I wondered if you could share a bit more context about what motivated you to revert the edit.

For context, here is the value I saw for readers that motivated me to make the edit that I did:

  1. I assume some readers will be curious to know who Teddi Mellencamp is and would value easy access to the article about her were it to exist in the context where they were [potentially] seeing her name for the first time.
  2. I assume readers will consider the details about Pop Smoke’s death and the resulting investigation to be distinct enough that they would, at a minimum, find it to be intuitive that those topics were covered in separate paragraphs. Further, I think keeping both topics in one paragraph will be tiring for a mobile reader who would need to scroll nearly full two device’s worth of screen real estate (scrolls will vary depending on device, of course) to make their way through the == Death == section’s opening paragraph.

I hope this helps you see the value I saw in making the changes I did. Stussll (talk) 05:22, 25 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
