Renaming to Princess Maker 2

edit

This page deals almost completely with the one game, Princess Maker 2. Should a new page be made that deals with PM2, and this one revamped to be more general? (Mortalysis 08:09, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC))

With the lauch of several more titles, they are up to PM4 now with several branch titles, this page should definatly be renamed Princess Maker 2 or expanded to incorperate more of the othes.
I suggest we move this page to Princess Maker 2 and create a Princess Maker Series page for more general information about the series. We'll have to look through the links to this page and point them to the correct page, the PM2 one and the series one. Kadelake 14:50, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Is this why the first paragraph is called 'Princess Maker 1' without actually having anything to do with that?
I have created a new page called Princess Maker 2, and can make one for PM3 as well; I'm not familiar with the original Princess Maker or PM4, however. (Mortalysis 05:13, 08 Feb 2006 (UTC))
Much material has been moved over to the PM2 page, but there is a certain amount that hasn't. I think the article would be better served by having a single paragraph about PM2 with a link to the main article. I'm going to change this now. 61.149.161.141 14:38, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stub

edit

I know there is some question about this being a stub, but I think so long as there are sections that are not filled out (such as Princess Maker 4) and ones that are very small (such as Princess Maker 1) then it is a stub. Does anyone disagree and why? Ryokosha 13:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do you think there should be a link to the "English Beta", I mean it never hit westen shores and it hosted on many abadonware sites -Dynamo_ace

We can't ad a link to the game until we are sure it's legal. Are someone aware of the current copyright status of the game? I know that www.the-underdogs.org was asked to remove the game some years ago since the download violated the copyright of SoftEgg, Gainax and IntraCorp. However the download is back up now. Kadelake 14:50, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Its was a unreleased beta, with at least 75% of the text translated. It is more or less playable. The game is about 8 years old, so it should be legal because of those two facts. Unless of cause they want to restart translating these games (which i doubt it). -Dynamo_ace Talk

Just because a game is hosted on an abandonware site doesn't mean it's legal. In the case of Princess Maker 2, the game contents still belong to Ninelives, while the translation belongs to SoftEgg. No company is currently licensed to release the game in the US. However, the legal status doesn't change. G005
See the very first sentence in this link. I think that pretty well verifies it. Yadyn 04:29, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unicode problem

edit

Apple's Safari browser (Mac OS X 10.4, Safari 2.0.3) doesn't seem able to render the Japanese characters properly on this page. This hasn't happened with most other Wikipedia pages I have visited. --JHVipond 19:23, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

where to get Princess Maker 1

edit

I allready told you guys that there IS an english translation of Princess maker 1. But it seems many of you where too stupid to find it.

So i am propably not supposed to do this, but i know i will make many people very happy:

http://www.generation-msx.nl/translations/download/pmaker_english.zip

This is the fan-translated english MSX version of PM 1 (MSX is basicly the Japanese Commodore 64... well a very popular computer during the 80's... you will need to download an MSX emulator to play)

There's also a different english translation of PM1 refine. But this really isn't the place for them... —Preceding unsigned comment added by AmethystPhoenix (talkcontribs) 22:41, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Setting this as a series page

edit

There are now 5 main games, 1 unique SNES game and 1 quiz game that I know of. In addition there in 1 anime based off the series. This should be made into a series page with indivisual titles talked about on their own pages. I believe, with the possible exception of the quiz game and the SNES game, they should be able to meet the WP:GNG.Jinnai 01:00, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

PM 3

edit

maybe i am stupid but isn't the article like kinda missing PM3? --Hoerth (talk) 16:25, 17 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

There needs to be enough independant reliable sources to show notability. I don't really exist even for PM5. PM2 is the only one imo that clearly passes notability on its own. The others might, but I prefer to be cautious so articles created won't be left as stubs. Sales data should be enough. I know before I said they should be split, because I do believe that they could, if work was done, pass the GNG, but that work hasn't been done.Jinnai 16:51, 17 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
