Plot summary

edit

There are a couple of problems with this summary. The criminal killed with the money is not a counterfeiter, he is a suspected murderer who simply passes phony bills. Also, they are never assigned to look for the missing cash. Finally, it's not fair to describe Bruner as a roque cop before he steals the money. I am going to edit. @Pete Best Beatles, I have discovered a very long plot summary, which may be of assistance. You did a good job, expanding, (so much better than before!) but this might be useful, if you are interested. It's not particularly well-written, but has many details. [1]. @Tribe of Tiger:You're subtlety telling me my plot summary isn't long enough, and you're right (149 words), but I've got to tell you that was within a week of my very first edit, and I'm sure I didn't know about the 400-700 word rule from WP:FILMPLOT yet, or I wouldn't have let that stand (although it was a Plot Too Short template in an article that inspired me to start editing in the first place). I saw mention of gnomes on your user page, well I've been both derided and complimented for my gnomish behavior -- some time ago, when I thought about the ramifications of the 400-700 rule for both plots too long and too short, I looked at hundreds of films noir I had watched to that point. I did a word count on each and every one, and made notes, then approached the Teahouse about putting templates on the ones that broke the rule either way. I'm glad you showed me that, and I appreciate the link to the FIA synopsis, but I have to say I'm uncomfortable using anyone else's observations or words for my plot summaries. I trust myself, and it might be hard to get the wording right since I think it would be out of context. I'm happy to put expanding the plot summary for Private Hell 36 on my to do list, but I'll follow my procedure and start by watching the movie again and going from there. -- Pete Best Beatles (talk) 02:35, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Pete Best Beatles I rarely work in film areas, but I like to look for print sources. I didn't know there was a length parameter (short or long!) So sorry. The fact that you can access and then write the plot summaries is absolutely admirable, and I (personally & WP, in particular, I'm sure) prefer to see you follow your procedure, and support your desire to do so. I just didn't know! Now, I'm having this "well, duhh" moment about film synopsis (sp?) I have read. (Duhh, duhh, duhh.) So, you have taught me something new. I'm more accustomed to working from print sources, for biographies and science, so please forgive me for being waay out of my depth. Late at night, tired, writing poorly, need to stop.
