This kind of error is inherent in the metric system. This map appears to show the district boundary - it is about 48 km long and 20 km wide. If it were a rectangle it would be 960 sq km - it is actually less than that. So an area of 610 sq km is possible. It looks like the Demography page says "sq km" when it means "ha".
