Peter Bleach has NOT claimed to know the motive
editI added a "citation needed" tag to the statement that Peter Bleach claims the Indian government masterminded or approved of the arms drop. It comes in a sentence that makes multiple assertions and is followed by three citations, currently references 20, 8, and 21, in that order. The first two are the Times of India articles and they do not feature any quotes by Bleach or assertions about Bleach knowing the motive, although they deal at length with Davy and his assertions. The third source is a different Indian newspaper that has just one mention of Bleach, saying he knew the motive but without quoting him or going into further details. It then goes on to talk more about Davy. This third reference (currently numbered 21) does support the assertion in this Wikipedia article, but I would characterize it as one throw-away sentence in a much longer article that doesn't otherwise mention Bleach.
In other sources on this Wikipedia article, Peter Bleach is directly quoted, and he always says he did NOT know the intended recipients of the arms. He does say "people claim" the arms were for one thing or another (he claims Davy initially lied about the customer, for instance), but he never claims to personally know. Bleach, overall, says he has no idea what was really going on, or who was complicit. 209.6.225.254 (talk) 18:29, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
