Move

This page needs to be moved to Pushpawati River because river pages are sufixed 'River' as per standard Wikipedia practice. - Chandan Guha (talk) 16:04, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

This is not standard Wikipedia practice. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Rivers#Naming. In fact the general rule on naming articles is that we use the name most commonly recognised in English. Google searching indicates that this is "River Pushpawati", which is way ahead of both "Pushpawati River" and "Pushpawati". JamesBWatson (talk) 13:26, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

• Oppose Even if no ambiguous page exists, is the name unadorned the common name in English for these rivers? It doesn't matter if nothing else is at the base title if "XYZ River" is still the best title. Maybe best for a full RM? Snowfire (talk) 01:09, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Also qualifies as per WP:CONSISTENT, with other rivers that have "river" dropped in their titles i.e. Ramganga, Yamuna, Sarayu, Nandakini, Ganges etc. — Hemant Dabral^Talk 09:18, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
