Merge with Sleeper (car)

edit
There seems to be merit in a merge, the articles do describe quite similar vehicles, even if the terms were coined in different places at different times.Alastairward (talk) 15:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Origin of "Q"?

edit

This article says that the Q in Q-boat or Q-ship stands for quiet, but the article on Q-ship says that it comes from the home port of the Q-ships being Queenstown. I'm inclined to believe the Q-ship explanation since it has a citation, but if anyone else has more information I'd certainly be willing to hear it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.227.135.67 (talk) 05:38, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Quiet-car" seems very much a backronym to me, as the origin is clearly from Q-ship. That some erroneously apply it to the car may justify its inclusion, but not the claim that it applies to the ships. Nick Cooper (talk) 08:06, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
