Writings

edit

Someone really ought to write briefly about Quddus's writings. I think E. G. Browne has catalogued some of them. J S Ayer (talk) 23:33, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

After the Revolution

edit

According to a brief statement in World Order magazine years ago, after the Iranian Revolution of 1979 the enemies of the Bahá'í Faith located the place where the few remains of Quddús's body had been buried, and dug them up and burned them again. J S Ayer (talk) 00:34, 27 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Changing citation style

edit

Hey, I'm hoping to make some major contributions to filling this article out, diversifying the sources, and ensuring information is clearly sourced and verifiable. Would there be any objection to me transitioning the existing citations to consistently use the SFN template, with a section for citations and a section for the full references, as depicted here? It'd make the page easier to edit, get all the citation in a consistent style, and I think it also makes the citations very easy for readers to navigate. I did something similar on Mulla Husayn some years back ahead of a major edit, and it was very helpful. captain_killy (talk) 20:59, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, please do. Cuñado ☼ - Talk 21:12, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I got started, but do you know of a nicer way to handle bundled citations with sfn/sfnm? I converted one, but feel like the next set in that section give a nicer user experience for engaging with the sources than what I came up with with sfnm. I know there's some other templates for bunding, but not sure which would be better than sfnm; thought you might know, since I know you've done lots of sfn cleanup work. captain_killy 🚀 (talk) 19:00, 12 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't bundle refs. See WP:OVERCITE. I try not to put more than two refs per sentence, and only when it's a controversial statement and needs better sourcing. Cuñado ☼ - Talk 01:56, 13 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
That all makes sense. I’ll convert these all to the simple sfnm bundled format first and work on cleaning up the over-citing as I expand the article. captain_killy 🚀 (talk) 15:29, 13 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Smith's encyclopedia is wrong in the references. It should be {{cite encyclopedia |last=Smith |first=Peter |author-link=Peter Smith (historian) |date=2000 |title=A concise encyclopedia of the Baháʼí Faith |publisher=[[Oneworld Publications]] |location=Oxford, UK |isbn=1-85168-184-1 }} Cuñado ☼ - Talk 16:16, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
